Wedding/Honeymoon in Vegas

We've reserved a room at the Tropicana in early August, but have yet to find a short, sweet, and cheap wedding chapel that we can agree on. Also, we need a good place to go after the wedding for a classy yet reasonably priced meal for 2 and possibly some good clubs/bars for 2 30-ish married kids to visit over the 3 days following. FYI - drinks and atmosphere are more important than droning "unh tis, unh tis" music.

Though the wedding locations may not be in your area of expertise, I'm hoping to elicit some pretty good responses to the second half of my question. Thanks in advance!
I got married at the Little White Wedding Chapel. Nice people there.

The new Cosmopolitan is full of very cool, hip lounges and restaurants.
We got married at the Chapel in the Clouds (Stratosphere chapel near top of their tower). It was great.

The LVA site has a tab on their home page called "Visitor Guide" and then "Wedding Guide". Or you can visit Las Vegas Wedding Chapels for info. (I can't tell you much about the two sites/links because I have AD BLOCKER on my computer and nothing shows up when I click those links....)

As to your partying question...sorry, can't help. My idea of a good time would be going to one of the "Dueling pianos" places for my drinking and carousing! lol. My dancing days were in the 70s---disco dancing (and I don't remember ever hearing "unh tis, unh tis" music.)

My only suggestion...don't pick a chapel based on "cheapness". Go to a chapel that suits both you and your sweetie's personal tastes/lifestyles. You'll have better memories of your wedding that way & more fun overall.

Either way, good luck and congratulations!
We got married at A Special Memory Wedding Chapel and were very happy with it. While it was just the two of us, the minister really gained a feel as to how special and important the day was for us. He really hit the nail on the head.

Surprisingly, I've recently read some unfavorable reviews this chapel, but then again I find most people leave reviews if not happy.

Limo service was provided which picked us up from the MGM and then took us anywhere we wanted to go for the next hour - hour and a half afterwards. The driver was great as well.

Based on our experience, we'd highly recomment A Special Memory for your special day.

For us, it was Lawry's The Prime Rib for dinner that evening. A very nice classy place - with a decent bottle of wine the price is around $150 with tip. If you let them know ahead of time what a special day it is, they'll take that into consideration during your dining experience - we've done this a few times on our anniversary which resulted in many congratulations from people there and a small but delicious cake at the end of the meal.

Can't help with the partying aspect - sorry, we're a little old for that.

My wife and I tied the knot at Little Chapel of the West (they don't charge for extra people and the Chapel holds seventy) by Mandalay Bay last June 26. Had a Champagne brunch at Cravings at the Mirage for 23.50 per person (I felt if they would come I would feed!) for 65 people. Staying at the Palazzo we upgraded to a 1200 sq ft hospitality suite on the third floor with a patio next to the pool. We nixed the club idea cuz getting table service for around thirty people was out of the question. It was decided to just party in the suite with our own alcohol for Fri and Sat night! Had a very wonderful time! Going to stay at Mandalay Bay (cuz I don't patronize V/P NO MOE!!!) the 25th and 26th of June for our anniversary! Yay!!!
Has anyone had a wedding at the Las Vegas sign? Now that they have a parking area and safe entry/exit you could stage a quickie there. Getting married on the Monorail, or on the Deuce, or on a pedestrian bridge over Las Vegas Blvd, or on the sidewalk on Las Vegas Boulevard might also be unique. Getting married at a craps table has already been done.

I'll give you the Snidely's but I've never heard of the AlanLeroy you speak of.

Regarding the Little White Wedding Chapel:

The limo driver was a little crazy. We sat way in the back of a stretch limo, just the two of us, while he kept asking us if we're having fun. We kept whispering to each other that we have a lot more fun if he would put up privacy glass and stop asking us. We still talk about him.

While we waited our turn to get married there was a bride in full white gown with the most sour puss look on her face. We still talk about her.

When it was our turn to get married, the reverend left the chapel. We were told he was going to another chapel to marry some folks and he'd be back in 45 minutes.

We spent the 45 minutes talking to Rhonda the piano player. A sweet old lady who played for tips. She told us stories about Michael Jordan and Slash. She said Michael was the nicest guy and that the lady minister didn't even know who he was but he was very gracious. But Slash. Rhonda was present for Slash's wedding. Rhonda did not have good things to say about Slash or his skinny little size 0 snooty bride too good to talk to the piano player. We still talk about Rhonda and Slash and his request that sweet old Rhonda play heavy metal music on her piano during his wedding.

If you saw the Hangover, the chapel in the movie is pretty much what the LWWC looks like inside.
