The Weiner & The McDonnell

Couple of scum-bag politicians back in the news today
Another round of Weinergate. Should be good for plenty of late night show jokes. I read a little on McDonnell to see what he's in trouble for. Is what he did any different than what Obama did with Tony Rezko?
Let's see......McDonnell (Governor of Virginia for those not in the know) accepted gifts ranging from cash to Rolex watches to fancy ass shopping trips for his trophy wife to a myriad of other things......from various shady people.

Today, he annouced he was giving back those gifts.....well, kinda sorta.......maybe some of them.....perhaps he will give back a few of them......maybe.

Okay....to make it clearer for you folks at LVA....I will post a PARTIAL list of gifts he is NOT GIVING BACK:

$15,000 for wedding catering.
Fancy (and expensive) Rolex watch
Wife's $15,000 shopping trip
Multiple lavish vacations.

and many more !

Now, there is some good news here. Actually, good news for the fine folks of Virginia

The State of Virginia has a 1 TERM LIMIT ON IT'S GOVERNOR ! So, very soon, the good and decent folks of Virginia can elect another person for Governor !

My suggestion ? Try a DEMOCRAT ! Your Republican selection of the criminal mastermind McDonnell hasn't worked out too well.......HAS IT ?
We tried Democrats for years in Illinois and Chicago.....It ain't workin' out so well.

How about trying someone who is honest and has strong ethics....that might be nice for a change.

My nic is being associated with this on another thread.....why?

He may be out of the slammer but he was not honest and did not have strong ethics......neither do the Democrat mayors in charge of Chicago for the last 60+ years.....

As soon as he is out of the mayor race: Wife is Outtah there.

Hmmm, a politician who got caught taking questionable "donations"(ok, bribes), now there's something you don't see everyday. I live in Va. and the campaigns are starting out fairly tame, mainly smearing one another and not saying a heckuva lot on issues, well not really anyway. Neither Cucinelli or Macauliffe has done anything to impress anyone so far.
Even tho I lean towards the right I'd never vote strictly based on party, I think that'd be rather narrow-minded. While I appreciate your interest in my next Governor can you tell me on what basis I should cast my vote for democratic nominee Terry Macauliffe other than the fact of soon to be ex-Gov. hand being caught in the proverbial cookie jar? What do you think are his strengths?weakness's? What issues should I consider as the most important to the state of Va? I'd really appreciate any answer's and or insight you may provide other than voting against yesterday for what happens tomorrow. Thanks a lot in advance.

You're right; you don't have good choices.

McAuliffe is a smarmy pandering FOB (friend of Bill...Clinton) who as governor, would bravely advocate for whatever he though would get him re-elected or named the vice-presidential nominee. He was probably one of Hillary's advisers who recommended her vote to authorize the idiot to invade Iraq, which of course is why she isn't president today.

However, it is simply an accident of geography that Ken Cucinelli isn't a member of the Taliban; he would fit in so well. He has advocated making premarital sex illegal, he currently wants to criminalize all kinds of sex acts, and he temporarily revised the official state seal to hide the exposed breast of a Roman goddess. Obviously the guy has issues, and has no problem with very big government control when it suits him.

So jatki, when you're faced with choosing between evil and something else, I suggest you choose something else. But that's just me.
