Westgate Las Vegas today, LVH no longer.

According to Vegas Chatter it is official.

Westgate Las Vegas
That place seems really hard to repurpose. Good luck to Westgate, seems like a headache a crazy rich old guy wouldn't need, but I guess those kinds of headaches are why he's crazy rich.
I am so relieved, since Chilcoot has acknowledged that the LVH has been sold to Westgate it must be true.
The first hotel I stayed at in Las Vegas. At the time it was the largest hotel in America and one of THE hotels in Vegas.

While it always did very well when conventions were in town, it's off strip location made it a boom/bust hotel. Giving up access to the Hilton reservation system didn't help

I liked when it was the "Whyte House" and Willard Whyte was the owner.

I used to think the sports book was one of the best in Vegas.
Thank God for Chilly!

I thought Siegel and his Westgate timeshare outfit went belly up years ago.

Is he still married to the beauty queen with seven kids?
Whatever happened with "Versailles", the monster home to be in Florida he couldn't finish building after going broke?

So, Chill - how does it feel to have your very own stalker?

It is a great venue, but the screens are so old it is hard to see the games. The high def screens in the other casinos are far superior.

Years ago we were out there for a trade show and I went to eat lunch in the buffet. As I came out of the buffet I got a cell phone call from one of my staff inside the conv. ctr. After I got off the phone security came up & informed me that it was illegal to take the call in the sports book. They politely walked me out of the sports book

That is why I used the words "used to think". It was pretty state of the art at the time.

The cell phone thing has always been a huge joke to me. I believe the sports book used to be in a different place at the MGM at one time. I can remember if your turned the corner as you exited the book, there were about 7 or 8 pay phones on the wall. The cell phone law is absurd. Anybody who is running an illegal sports betting busines and is laying off bets at the legitimate books, only needs to step a few feet outside of the book in order to take bets.

I know the NGC has changed the law and it is now discretionary, but I still see people being asked to either get off their phone or to leave the book.
