The HBO series looks like it might be significantly updated.

That movie freaked me out as a kid. I had nightmares from watching it.

I liked the original and the sequel Futureworld It looks like the new one has more sex in it. I got a kick watching that trailer for the 1973 version you posted. I loved seeing all of those guys with bad rugs on their heads.

The premiere tonight was great. Thanks to Don Diego for letting me know about this or I would have missed it.

Wasn't crazy about the first episode, but wasn't that thrilled with Game of Thrones first episode either.

The premiere was past poor old DonDiego's bedtime.
He'll watch it today at 4:00pm on one of the HBO channels. Reportedly the series has 5 years of episodes already "mapped out" including a grand finale, . . . so he can be patient.

DonDiego is seldom impressed by TV/Motion Picture treatments of the sci-fi artificial-intelligence genre. But this looks like it could be very good. Lots of interesting threads introduced in this first episode addressing the AI concept, . . . and its implications.

This looks like it's gonna go way beyond Asimov's "Three Laws of Robotics".

I liked when they went to the storage area for defective hosts and it turns out to be the guest lobby from the original movie.

They put the second episode up early on streaming. If I were that new guest, I would have never made it out of the first room.

I'm really surprised DD doesn't own a DVR. I'm also resistiant to technological change (I still don't own a smart phone, never will) but I really don't know how did our show watching w/o one. It's not only for recording, that's a minor feature to me, it also will pause, rewind or whatever while watching. The phone rings<PAUSE>, missed what someone said,<REWIND> and so forth. Thee absolute best feature is the FF button though. We always let the Steeler game start and wait 45 or so minutes to start watching, then we get to zip through all the commercials and halftime. Of course the same for any shows with commercials.
Directv gave us a free one to try out and we were hooked and it's only like ten bucks a month.
