What are my rights as a hotel guest: Theft personal property

alanleroy, I disagree about jenipher's initial posts. They were meant to immediately show disbelief and not to help with the issue at hand. Obviously it would have been better had I worn the jewelry and/or locked it in the safe. I think it's obvious that is not the help we were looking for and we have taken responsibility for my lack of judgement from the beginning. We took offense to her tone from the beginning and that is just the truth. When we saw Discostu's reply, it felt good that we weren't the only one's offended. We certainly felt "kicked while we were down" because we were still feeling bad about the loss and then were told how stupid we were for not using the safe. That being said, I understand that it her comments were just to try to get the story straight and understand what was going on.

I'm sure you did feel that way. I'm sure you and Discostu sincerely believe jenaphir was being mean spirited or uncaring. I don't think that was her intent. I might have asked the same exact question. I feel no ill will toward you. It's just simple curiosity to wonder why the jewelry wouldn't fit in the safe...no malice. I thought discostu's response was out of line and that led to things spiraling out of control...but see, that's the problem with the written word...It's not possible to know what's in a person's heart.

Now, looking back on this thread, I did post the picture of the 'Big Ass Chain'. I can see how that could be interpreted as mean or insensitive. My only intent was a little comic relief. I'm sorry if that was offensive to you too....it is the Internet though.

The big ass chain was pretty funny. I didn't think it was mean. In fact I took it just as you meant it. Something to lighten the mood. I appreciate your thoughts. I agree we should put it behind us.

1. The lost jewelry was a hoax and those responding to it with sympathetic posts are made to look foolish.
2. The lost jewelry is true and those responding with accusatory posts are made to look mean.

But, I don't care which side you are on, the Big Ass Chain was funny.

i most certainly never said this. i am sure you have some motive for continuing to lie. but its kind of backfiring because anyone who had wanted to show you sympathy, now reads you post this lie over and over and begins to see that you are in fact, a liar. you know, because you are lying.

you keep claiming i said this, i keep asking you to show me where i said this. you can not show me where i said it because i did not. even your boy discostu (what up buddy?) cant show me where i called you stupid because its not there. no one can find it, yet you keep harping on it.

then you go on these nutso rants trying to shift attention away from the fact that you are LYING about me calling you stupid, but that doesnt work either because i will bring it right back here every single time until you admit you lied about me calling you stupid.

so in summation, if you want me to START calling you stupid (because i would have to START since i have yet to do so) i would be happy to do so. only instead of using the missing jewelry as an example (i would never do that), i will use your inability to read as an example.

I don't think this is made up for entertainment. If it is, they got what they wanted.
