What are my rights as a hotel guest: Theft personal property

So sorry for this. Is it possible your husband sold them for gambling money? I know this sounds terribly insensitive, and I'm sure he did not, but things happen.

I thought someone may mention this scenario, the timeline just doesn't fit. Seems, the jewelry was on him until the last day, then they were together.

Yes, by all means, waterboard the husband!!

Here's another creative scenario: Woman goes to police and says she was raped; police ask her whether she was dressed like a slut.
If you are suggesting I had thought that the husband did it, you are wrong.
Yo Eleven: Thank you and I believe that you are correct about the poster.

Hope we get his jewelry back w/o having to make an insurance claim. As far as the pawn shops are concerned I believe that the police department has a good relationship with them. I don't know how long they are supposed to hold something that is pawned before selling?

I sure that my husband did not such thing, we are not trash nor criminals. Like most people we set a limit for play and either put back what we win for another trip or when we are out we quit.

If he were a low life he would not have had the time to do such a thing. He was back at our hotel w/i about 15 minutes of getting knocked out of the tournament and the timeline is easily checked.
Well, I was afraid my question would be taken wrong. It was only a question and I'm sorry it hurt your feelings. I've never considered someone who pawns something to be low life trash. My husband and I have enjoyed looking around in pawn shops on occasion. I do hope you get the jewelry back.

There are plenty of desperate people, especially in gambling hotels that concoct stories of stolen property. Not saying that you are not sincere but the hotels have to deal with a lot of liars. It makes it tougher on us honest people and easier for the crooks.

As Jason, you are new here, I'll vouch for O2b. She is one of the nicest ones here.
Hi O2bnVegas: Sorry, I was not clear, low life trash would be someone who would steal property of another person and sell it to a pawn shop.

Hi Snidely: I will take your word for it; not casting any stones anyway. I'm Jason's wife using his sign in. I think he has been on the site for a few yrs. but not sure whether he posts often. We buy the value book here most years for Vegas trips.
