What are they thinking?

A couple of years ago airlines ran a trial balloon for this awful seat.

Now Airbus has filed for a patent that makes the above seat look luxurious. It is a bicycle type seat with a very small backrest.

I also remember the Ryan Air CEO proposing standing room only for the back of coach with ceiling handles like on a bus or subway.

Any US carrier that has any of these (although I doubt the FAA would ever allow standing only), is a carrier that I will no longer fly. This is only begging for further air rage and trouble.
I believe this is the seating plan all the airlines would like to adopt if it weren't for that damn FAA:

Maybe they should propose human carriers and let you ride in the cargo hold with Fido.
They should incorporate a potty on each seat after all that looks like the correct posture for that.

The potty seat costs extra.
The little white thing under each seat looks like a small bedpan.

That was my initial thought as well.

I wouldn't sit there, but if some young buck thinks that's it's worth saving $50, then I'm all for it.
They should put peddles under each seat so the no-frills passengers can power the engine.
Looks like another ride atop the Strat.
