Ma, used to make home-made polenta w/ red sauce. At the risk of being labeled a barbaric caveman, I will say that she often cooked the red sauce with wild rabbit or other game like quail.
I could also eat my weight in Italian bread with balsamic & EVOO to dip in....mmmmm. As a matter of fact used to love feasting on Capri's (Sunset Stations) before our meals.
I'm a big cioppino fan as well, but since the Golden Nugget closed Steffano's, I can't find a decent one in Las Vegas. The cioppino at Steffano's was great...plenty of seafood and the sauce had a great "kick" to it!!
