What Date Will the Fourth of July Be?

In Today's News, LVA writes:

Rockhouse, the Stripside bar at IP, is celebrating Veteran's Day, which falls on Nov. 11 this year, by offering complimentary cover and a cocktail for anyone with a military ID.

Veterans Day (no apostrophe) is always on November 11, year in and year out.

This was not always the case. I remember when it was celebrated on a Monday.
