What dictates your DATES for vacation:Las Vegas?POLL?

Based on Andrews and Bob's post,I will NEVER do 'Vegas on new years.
Halloween was OK,during the entire month,BTW.
I didn't know that Bob was a gear head.
This is for you:it's worth it.

Lift the throttle,Hillbillys!
No one died.
Lotsa broken axels.
The crowd goes wild on this @ 6:12.
There is not much of this mayhem going on at the LVMS,Y'all.
Kentucky Derby week for the last eight years. Sunday to sunday at my parents time share behind the High Roller, coupon runs( I use all of the gambling and most of the 2 for 1s. Two free nights at a CET resort or MGM( Mirage this year), low rolling all over town. I love Las Vegas and try to get the most bang for my buck while I am visiting. This year I got a round trip ticket DAL-LAS for $126, so I am on cloud nine for this trip. Last year I took $1000 spending cash for food and gambling and came home with $750, so I consider that a win. I won a couple of Jackpots at Harrahs and Ellis Island. Ellis Island is my favorite spot for various reasons like, the steak special, fresh brewed beer and the fact that the machines feel looser and I have made friends there over the years. 47 days and counting until I leave for Sin City.
I go when I have decent comp/free play offers at the resorts I like and the funds to take advantage of them. That ends up being about 5-6 times a year. I am fortunate enough to live in SoCal so travel time is short, and my work schedule is such that my "weekend" falls in the middle of the week so crowds aren't such an issue.
I prefer April and October. Temp in the 80s, pools open, not many crowds. I like a 7 night/8 day stay each time. I fly for 5.5 or more hours plus you add in the travel time to airport and waiting for security, so it's an entire day on either end.

My wife.
YES! Wait for your comps to show and build around those dates!
April/October is fine!
Air fare is about the same as 3 night stay for me.
Comps wins over the air fare.
2 nights here and 2 nights there is OK,too.
2 comp and 2 pays are fine.
WEATHER...Spring and Fall;
I have gone in the summer a few time and it is just too toasty for me!!
Whats with this problem with a little heat. For the last 4 years I've hit Vegas in either July or August and its no big deal...the casinos have AC. Of course, I don't walk the strip.
A LITTLE heat? 110*
and NO shade? Even skinny people cannot tolerate those kinds of temperatures!
I can swear that my skin sizzles when I'm in the Las Vegas sunshine.
If my comps come for July/August, I will ignore them!
A sunburn on top of that heat pushes my BP over the edge.

Got a good dose of heat stroke during Hot August Nights in Reno.
Lucky my buddy was an E.M.T.
We blew 1/2 a day of NO gambling/car shows while I recovered.
I carried ice cubes in my shirt pocket to stay cool, soaked my t-shirt in hot water and put it on:keeps ya cool for an hour!
A long-sleeve sweatshirt is better,but it weights 3 pounds.

Better to stay in during the day(and watch TV) and go out at night when the temps are around 80*,go back to the room at sun-up.
People have told me that during their working shifts, they left their car running, just to have a cool car to get into.
Ya ever get burned by a door handle or a steering wheel?
I'm just not that tough.
6 bottles of bottled water and pee once, all day?
No thanks.

Yep,just stay inside, where they want you.
The A/C units(inside and) outside my room, lull me to sleep at 8AM.
I hate spring break. Hate seeing all the drunk and rowdy young people roaming in huge packs. And really hate it when they sit down at the bj table where I am playing. Going to the ladies room can be a annoying when they are throwing up and sometimes even laying on the floor. Yuck! I guess I have become an old crank.
