What do you do if there is a slot card already in a machine you sit down to play?

This has happened many times over the years...

I sit down at a machine and start to put my slot card in it and there is already one there.

1) Should you move to another machine?
2) Pull the card out and slip yours in and start playing?
3) Ask around (if anyone is close by because sometimes there isn't) if anyone is playing the machine?

I feel many times people forget to take their card with them when they get up. I find I do this if it isn't tethered to me.

How about you?

Check the point balance and spend them quick as possible,

or

pull the card and toss it into the coin return tray or on top of the machine or between the machines IF no credits remain on the machine.

IF there are credits on the meter, I'll give the person some time to return before making a decision.

I've never considered anything other than #2. You're right, this happens all the time. Everyone does #2.

#2 and when done with the machine, drop it off at the players club booth.
I've had many people come back to my machine looking for their card. So, I just leave it on top or near the machine. If it's at a VP bar, the bartender will hold it behind the bar.
First, I look around. Then I ask if someone is coming back. Then I wait a minute or two. Then I remove the card and place it either at the machine front or on top, and insert my card.

Usually the player has left, but they might want to come back to retrieve their card.

I dont know of any casinos that allow you to cash out the points on someone else's card without ID to match the card.

and since I found out its against the law to play credits that arent yours, I wouldnt. but in the past, I did. I confess.
I've never found someone elses card, but i know i've left mine numerous times. Never ever forgot my beer or smokes,but......................that stupid little card...., Go figyre.

Take it out and start to play, providing there are NO credits remaining. If there are credits, I'll find an employee and get them to take it. That person does not come back to claim their money, it's mine after 30 days. At least that's what I do in the local casino; karma baby...

Miller... Im curious where you play and about claiming the money after 30 days? In Nevada the law is specific: abandoned money in a slot machine belongs to the casino. Is it different in another state?

(I confess: I once played $350 left in a slot machine. I'm bad. I'm bad. I'm bad.)
