Like most, I really miss Jon's reports, but I understand his absence. I started going to LV in the early nineties. From '95-2010 I averaged about five trips a year, 5-7 days at a clip. Less than some but more than most. When Jon started his reports, I really enjoyed them for the detailed info. I used a lot of this to get the most I could out of LV for my money. Being a low roller, I was always looking for something new to enhance my trips for minimal outlay and these boards helped a lot. I did have to draw the line one poster and his wife used when they set up a slow cooker in their bathroom to lower food outlay! Anyway................
In time Jon's reports became the famous summer marathons which we all enjoyed. These were great and in time evolved into the DIAD report, then later Reaching for the Stars. That's when I felt the road was coming to it's end. He went from trying to "beat" LV for what he could to striving for point goals. No doubt he enjoyed the journey, but you could see a few years back that the journey was becoming laborious for him. I can't imagine the time involved planning and booking the trips, writing reports while trying to make it all enjoyable. I get frustrated booking a couple of hotels for each trip and rarely take notes for TRs, much less doing a live report each day. All in all, I think he just said been there, done that and here we are. In fact, I remember a comment a few years back that he wasn't sure if he'd do a summer report the following year, but he did a couple more.
I do hope we see a post here and there, but I'm sure he's enjoying whatever he's doing now. Thanks for all the reports Jon.
Good Luck!
