What is the last thing you cooked?

cabbage soup, cant get enough of it. I like to cook, I find it relaxing but I am never home. I work 2 jobs and a lot of OT. I have so many things I want to cook before summer. I don't like to use my oven in the summer. chili is probably my favorite go to recipe, and I can eat on that for days. I will take leftovers over fast food any day.
Brat patties on the grill
My grandma started making salmon patties for the family the last few years again. Hadn't had them since i was a child. I was impressed, they were super easy and tasted like grandmas. Now for some homemade noodles this week hopefully. I am not hopeful they will taste like grandmas.

Vegasdev, I am assuming you are single. Invest in some single serving Pyrex w lids that go From freezer to oven and a toaster oven. I make extra of everything and then use these in the summer. Make a red pasta, then make lazy lasagnas, soups, mashed potato (can add fancier stuff for twice baked, meat loafs.

I also freeze meat into single portion and use frozen veg and limp veg for stir fry. We live on Mexican stir fry.
Lamb shank stew along with crusty french stick. I made enough for two dinners & we enjoyed it fully.

chili gains so much more flavor as it gets older, the flavors really have a chance to all meld together. I also filnally found a decent box cornbread mix, as close to homemade as I've found, and I think I've tried 'em all. Fleischmans(like the butter) cornbread blows all the others away. We always make a bunch to go with the chili.
thx, I will try the Fleischmans. incidentally, I found a tray of cornbread at Sams Club that was good. I know... it is easy enough to make but it looked good so I tried it. $3.98 for 12 mini loaves. not too dry, not too moist, not too sweet. not bad at all.
Tator Tot Hot Dish! I wish I could of stated something a bit more extravagant; but didn't want to lie : )
