What is your Vegas "Hidden Gem" ?

I love the food at the Pink Taco Restaurant in the Hard Rock Hotel.
It's L.A. fusion Mexican food and I love it. I get all the real Mexican food I want in San Diego.
I've never been disappointed yet.
I will add Hugo's at the 4Q. Classic Vegas, although very expensive.

The steak and shrimp special at the HR; althugh the steak was a little tough the last time I went

Ah Yes , Hugo's Cellar, ..... probably THE best restaurant that Rock'n Rita and I have been to in Vegas.

.............and it is litterally a "Hidden" Gem, because Hugo's Cellar is located in the basement, below the casino floor.

The nice touch about this place is that every lady receives a red rose as they enter.

Still miss our old Hidden Gem - the deli at what was the back of the Golden Gate. Although the shrimp cocktail kept it a little less hidden than it might otherwise have been. Nothing like that now I don't think - - get yourself a pastrami sandwich with a side of shrimp - complete with a live piano player.

Depending on your definition of Hidden Gem, I think our new one might be the Golden Nugget buffet. Underwhelmed with past visits, someone mentioned on here that it was better. We gave it a try for lunch last month.

Was, in fact, much better we thought. I liked these fresh deli-like sub sandwiches they were cutting. Good desserts.

This is not a huge buffet in terms of seating space and selections, which are maybe positives. We don't load our plates at the buffets; we never end up trying everything at the larger buffets anyway. So a smaller selection of well prepared items seems to fit us better. And it is hidden upstairs. We had a nice seat by the windows overlooking the pool.

Throw in the MRB 2-fer and we agreed it was really a good play for lunch.
While the following places might not be my favorites I do consider them "hidden" gems.

As mentioned, Hugo's at the 4 Q's

THE Steak house at Circus Circus

Las Vegas Natural History Museum

Springs Preserve

The secret restroom door at the Golden Nugget Poker Room

The Gallery of Fine Art at the Bellagio

Peppermill lounge

The free electric car charging stations at the city parking garage (free parking when charging too)
Hi,
These are great places, some of which have been mentioned by other people.

Bonito Michoachan restaurant- delicious chile rellenos and homemade guacamole.

Amber Unicorn used bookstore- I love cookbooks and they have tons of them!

Nevada State Museum/Springs Preserve- they are located next to each other. I like to cruise through the outside desert gardens at the Springs Preserve first and then go to the cool museum during my summer trips. One admission gets you into both places. I always feel a bit sad though because the museum isn't open everyday and very few people seem to go there but it is a fantastic place.

Hemenway Park in Boulder City- I always hope to see the bighorn sheep, rabbits and roadrunners that come down from the hills to graze on green grass at the park.

Red Rock Canyon scenic drive- this is beautiful in the morning and there are many places to hike or just pull over and enjoy the scenery.

Silverton Casino/hotel- I love this place because they have a huge floor to ceiling aquarium and their hotel rooms have the most comfortable beds with fluffy comforters.

Aloha,
Jennifer

The Las Vegas Paiute Wolf course is great. Even more amazing, is the view from inside the very nice clubhouse bar. Floor to ceiling seamless windows allow for an unobstructed view across the green course, then into the desert and finally up to the mountains. It's a striking view and worth the 30 minute drive from Vegas.

The drive to Mt. Charleston is also magnificent. Once at the lodge, the temperatures are about 25 degrees cooler than in the valley.

Early in the mornings seems the best time to see the sheep. There also seem to be more in the fall months than any other time of year.
And be sure to tell any little ones you might have with you that those are NOT chocolate candies all over the ground.

Thanks for the advice CowboyKeli. I always go to Las Vegas in June so that is when I visit the park. I will try to go earlier in the day for the best chance to see the critters. Luckily, I don't have any littles ones so no worries about the sheep poop!
Aloha,
Jen
