What new car would you buy?

I bought a new Cadillac back in 2003 and still have it. So far (knock on wood) I have only needed the occasional brake job and oil changes. It has 36,000 miles . It only gets 16-17 miles per gallon but then again....... I don't drive it all that much.

Anyone know if the new Caddy's get better gas mileage these days ?
Worse car I ever owned was a foreign car. It was a Mercury made in that foreign land called Canada. The best car I ever owned was an American car. It was a Honda built in Ohio.

I'm trying real hard not to be offended by that. .... Still trying...

DonDiego drives a 2000 Subaru Outback Sport in Sedona Red which he purchased new in 2001.

It was built in Hiroshima, Japan, . . . the least DonDiego could do.

It has performed well and continues to do so. There is a crack in the windshield from a rock thrown by a truck; and the upholstery is beginning to fray. DonDiego services it regularly. Otherwise, the vehicle is in fine shape. It has been an excellent purchase.

However, one should be warned that the hub caps, . . . now referred to as wheel covers, . . . on these Subarus attach in a strange way, which causes those who service the automobile to break them such that the wheel cover won't stay on. Usually the service-folks, nonetheless, put the cover back on, . . . and it falls off a few hours or days later. DonDeigo has had to replace several.

I'm not even gonna feign like I give a rip.
The last three cars I have owned and purchased new were Hyundai. The most recent was a AW drive Santa Fe 2009 and for ride--service---and to get you going in most types of weather is has been great.
I own a Chevy Aveo.

Of course it doesn't come from the US, but Korea.

It's 6 years old and the only thing I've had to do (other than the routine maintenance) was replace 3 tires and do a wheel alignment.
THANKS for all the suggestions.

I "think" we have narrowed it down to a

FORD TAURUS SEL

We had a Ford Taurus wagon YEARS ago and really liked it.

Consumer Reports as well as other agencies have recommended this
car to be very reliable, etc.

Nothing is definite - still contemplating!!
Whatever you buy, good luck with it.

What color do you fancy?
Excellent choice Chessie!!
