What new car would you buy?

Thinking of buying through Consumer Reports or "carsdirect" or even Kelly's Blue Book.

Apparently, there is no hassle whatsoever - they give you a price and you get it - no salesman trying to coax you into what you don't want.

Has anyone ever used these services and how do you think they were?
Ford has been making awesome products for the last 5 years or so - prior to that their quality consistency was very spotty. Frankly GM and Chrysler are still playing catch-up in this regard. If I could afford any car I wanted, I would probably drive a Ford Fusion.

That being said, I am driving a 2003 Kia Optima. Its been a reliable car for the most part, but nothing special. I had a bad bit of luck when the timing belt snapped at 102,000 and took the engine out with it. I was later told by the service department that I was supposed to "replace all the belts" every 50,000 miles or so. This was something the a-hole that sold me the car hadn't mentioned. Had I done so, I'm sure the car would still have its original engine. The replacement engine I got had 50,000 miles on it, and I've since put another 70,000 miles on it.
I've always heard good things about the Rolls Royce.

Maybe you're on her ignore list;-)
That would not surprise me. I've long found the OP to be a few degrees off plumb and perhaps my snarky retorts over the years sent me to CyberSiberia. lol
So, what car did you get?
Why No Chryslers??? Bob
Thanks for all the input on which car we should buy.

For YEARS we bought nothing but Chrysler products but once or twice had bad experience with them.
They are no longer on our list.

Can't decide between a Toyota Venza, Ford Taurus or a Nissan Altima!!!! One day I want that particular one and then the next day I can't decide. Trouble with the Taurus is that all they have around here are ones that are loaded with extras (like moonroof) which we don't want.

Ahhhhhhhhhh
I've had my altima (2nd one) since 2001. I've not had any major issues with it.Just basic maintenance. Been very reliable. I have the 3.5 but would recommend a 2.5. The 3.5 has a performance engine and uses premium fuel. Love my leather heated seats. Have the moon roof but don't use it often.
