What, No Ellis Island

Anthony Bourdain visits Las Vegas

That's an interesting list. I'm going to print that out.
Be glad. You want every cheapskate tourist in town lined up for the steak special and beer at the restaurant in Ellis Island while you're trying to get a seat? (who said I wanted a beer for breakfast?). The prices have already gone up to $9.99 for the $4.95 steak. Hell the beer's even gone up. What is it now?

As far as including the "Double Down Saloon" I think Tony must be on the take because I wouldn't even go to the bathroom in that place. I went across the street to the gay bar. At least it's clean! Ass juice? Yeah the motto is "You Puke You Clean". Try the Bacon Martini! It comes with a bucket and a mop.
Ellis Island is way too mainstream for a guy like Bourdain.

I really liked the show. I was in one of those crazy ground-level Caesars villas in December, was unbelievably luxurious. I've also been in the Huntridge Tavern, though the crowd was a lot more "up" on the TVshow than on my ultra-depressing Wednesday afternoon visit a couple months ago. Downtown's Eat is very good, especially at breakfast. I'd never heard of the Bootlegger though.

Bourdain is definitely pompous and obnoxious, but he cuts it with a lot of self-deprication, and on balance he makes good TV.

Was a nice shot of him pretending to eat a gas station hot dog while plugging away by himself at the station's terrible VP.
The Bootlegger is owned by Dennis Bono's mother in law. If you ever attend his free show at the Southpoint on Thursday's or listen to the rebroadcast of it on 104.7 (KJuL) every Sunday you will hear the Bootlegger getting plugged a lot. They have an open mic night every Monday and some B list headliners pop in now and then to sing.
