What surplus does your local PD have?

For anyone interested in such matters. Punch in your state and county below the article. Pretty interesting.

I thought Fresno PD was being pretty judicious when they started off with 50 bath towels, 50 bandage kits, combat boots and 50 pairs of men's drawers.

Then we got into the Grenade Launchers, the Forward looking infrared imaging system for $544,482;
One Utility Helicopter for $922,704, the Mine Resistant Vehicle at $658,000 and a hundred or so new rifles. Try not to speed through town.
I'd always heard Fresno had pretty substantial gang activity. If so, the good guys might be poorly armed. They should call Knight Rider, Blue Thunder, and Robocop.
My rural county in PA got a Truck, Ambulance, that's it. Not sure if it is both a Truck and Ambulance or just an Ambulance that is classified as a truck. Seems positive anyway.

All DonDiego's County got was some rifles, in 5.56mm and 7.62mm, and some sights. Now poor old DonDiego knows how poor kids feel at Christmas.

But Clark County, Nevada got lots of aircraft parts, a $6000 Binocular, a shitpotful of rifles, and 2 MK3s at close to $200,000 each. DonDiego doesn't know what an MK3 is, . . . but he wants one.
Tampa Police got this vehicle. Its a good thing too. You never know if ISIL might lay a seige upon Dunkin Donuts

My local gendarmes got mostly routine stuff that no self-respecting police force can do without these days, including one fixed wing aircraft ($5.39M), several mine resistant vehicles ($773K each), and a dump truck ($85K).

They also got the requisite shitpots full of 5.56mm and 7.62mm rifles, and .45cal pistols, too. With thousands of counties across the country doing much the same thing, I’m wondering if this whole program isn’t just a clever way for the government to dispose of its excess shitpots.
My hometown of 23,000 has no special hardware, however we have 63 folks in the police department which is overkill.......no pun intended.
My county got 20 "can, military". Not sure we need 20 latrines but what the heck.
How the hell can they value M-16's at $120.00 shipped in 2013 when they were valued at $499 in 2006-2011???

$138 for a m-60?

$84k for a dump truck?
