What to do with old IPOD

Hi I have a older IPOD, and want to get rid of it. Where can I send it? the battery is shot and it is very old.
I'll take it. Send it to me.
Contact Apple about battery replacement costs. Have it fixed.
Then donate it to a local kid's hospital or local battered women's / children shelter and then you can claim the fair value and repair cost as a tax deduction.
Or sell it on eBAY. Just be honest in your description, and list the music it contains. You might be surprised. Or not.

Post offices have a free mail-in recycling bag/envelope. Leave the battery in the device as they wont recycle batteries not in their original devices.

OR: take it to Best Buy which has a recycling program and depending on the store might give you a store credit.
As long as it works, I'll send you a SASE to mail it to me.

If you donate to charity, you can deduct fair value. You can't deduct repair costs.
I think you can deduct repair costs as part of a charitable donation, just as you can also deduct your miles driven to the charity and the value of your time. I am not an accountant, but I have heard of this from various tax experts. Perhaps one of our tax experts can comment?? Thanks.
Snidely, if your going to grovel, you need to learn how to do it better. If you were in person then you could use other methods, however since your talking, other ways are required. You have to do the boot licking technique without being there to actually lick the boot/feet of the person who's ass your kissing.

Remember don't wimper, its unsightly to those of us who have a degree in groveling.

Medicluvs, you'll need to erase any personal data before you get rid of your IPOD.
If I had an older IPOD I wanted to get rid of, I'd send it to Snidely.
If the iPod works, than the content (depending on amount) would probably have more value than the hardware. Not knowing much about them, I see the shuffle newest models on Amazon starting at $39 or so, new.

I also see "repair" stores online offering inexpensive battery replacements, etc.

Since the hardware is inexpensive, your value is basically the content. You may want to try to sell it that way. :::shrug::::

eBAY has free listing until the end of the month.
