Really? The monorail won't stop at Sahara? Is there any other way into the station? Could they build an extension to the Stratopshere, or maybe run a shuttle from the Stratosphere to the Sahara station?

They could have done a lot more with the monorail and never did. It may have saved a bit of Vegas if it had gone the entire strip to DT. It's a shame.
They wont extend the monorail to Stratosphere. There are several reasons for it. The monorail is already struggling for customers and really isn't making any money. The Strat is on the wrong side of the street for the monorail. I'm not sure how many year the monorail has left in it. It's a shame.

I believe the Monorail Station WILL stay open at the Sahara.
Looks like you guys are right. According to the Sun Times it seems that as long as the bus stop continues the monorail will continue. People will just have walk the sidewalks along the closed Sahara I guess. I hope the crime doesn't go up in the area.
I will miss the stop in Sahara for the $1.00 tables. My gang used to take over a whole $1 BJ table and play for hours. We all went in with $100 and no bets higher than $1 allowed. We bought a round of the $1 shot (keep the glass) every time someone got a BJ. Got very drunk and sometimes never made it DT. lol
What was nice for the $1 blackjack player was that they usually had quite a few tables at the $1 level. Even in January I can remember seeing probably 4 $1 tables and most of them actually had empty seats. I think they also had 3 $5 blackjack tables open too and this was during the week at night with hardly anyone there. It was very quiet and peaceful there even with some major conventions going on. I go to any of the Detroit casinos at any given time it's almost always $15-$20 minimums tables and almost impossible to get a spot on one. Plus the dealers and players are typically rude and not in a good mood : (
