What would YOU do ????

So I'm "practicing" video poker in anticipation of my Vegas trip next week, and I was dealt 4 to a Royal.

Without even thinking twice I immediately turned the game off, without drawing any cards.

I didn't want to use up my 1 in 40,000 chance. LOL

What would YOU do ????

Rick
You just ruined it for yourself Rick!

The cards were dealt, your fate was already sealed. Turning off the computer only accomplished one thing..

And that is that You're never going to know if that Royal filled in or not. It would have been better to find out that you missed it, that way you have a good chance, when you get to Vegas!

LOL

Next time, don't practice at all!

heh heh

I think Rizzo is right. Now it might take you 80k hands to get another Royal. Your only hope now is to play a whole bunch of hands on the computer and hope and pray you don't get another RF. This will bring down your expected number of hands to get a royal to something achievable while you are in Vegas. Chew up those worthless hands at home and not in a real casino.
Some of the programs have a mode of operation where you never are given cards on the draw. You just select the cards after the deal and either an error is shown or it proceeds to the next hand. Eliminates this kind of mental gymnastics.

BTW, I've also been doing this when dealt 3 Aces in DDB, and 3 Deuces in any Deuces Wild game.

I think that I'm just superstitious, ............................... well hopefully that's all it is. LOL

Rick
Just don't walk away from a machine in Vegas when you are dealt the same.
lol
Good luck in Vegas.

Thanks CC,

I just hope I'm not "practicing" these "throw-aways" too good. LOL

Rick
Wait a minute here ...................

Another option for the VP player after the deal: The "POWER OFF" button.

Would it only light up after drawing 4 to a royal or maybe trip aces with a kicker ???

Where would be a good place for this button ??

Don't they base the 1 Royal out of so many hands off of 1 playing session on the same machine?
Practice getting all the Royals a simulator will spit out, the real ones in Vegas will never know.
If not, then it's ok I don't understand. Don't want a VP war thread.
lol
I would of done the sensible thing and finished the hand. I can not comprehend your not doing so.
