What's happened to LVA ?

Ever since LVA tried the Beta thing a few months ago . The site has changed for the worst . I haven't seen as many trip reports . Where has everybody gone? Rizzo stopped posting his daily jaunts . I have taken to other sites for the TRs.
Has anybody else noticed? I check in everyday and it has been the same stuff for the most part . No offense to those that continue posting . I enjoy some of the good reads but it is not the same.

You mean a 3 week argument about the randomness of craps isn't good enough for you?

i stopped posting trip reports because it got annoying having people somehow taking my posting a report as it being me asking for advice on what THEY think i should have done on my trip.

the straw that broke my back was after a losing trip, i was told that instead of going to vegas, i should instead take day trips to atlantic city with noahcat. so instead of going on vacation to a city i absolutely love, let me instead take daytrips to a city i hate, with someone i had never met, because someone else i have never met thinks that THIS is what i should be doing with my vacation time, uh.....yeah.

no offense to noatcat, but the very idea of setting two people up on a playdate just because they post on the same board is kind of intrusive.

I quit posting trip reports because some asshole copied my TR from the paid side and then posted it on the free side of another board with some really nasty commentary.


I also got lots of comments about what other people thought I should do on MY vacation.


If you want to write trip reports, write trip reports. But I don't think jenaphir, or Frankie Rizzo or myself, or anybody else owes anyone a trip report just because we post on this forum

Unfortunatley...this is the sad state of affairs that this site has become.

We are all victims now to moneyla's iditiotic statements, and all the others just can't wait to prove him wrong...even if it takes 3 weeks worth of ranting, which never ends up resolving anything.

Now that the random one is just about over...we just have to sit and wait for Moneyla to start a new thread that will get peoples panties in a wad, and start another 15 page thread!

I also agree with Jenaphir...as there are too many people quick to point out , in peoples trip reports, that folks who play slots are wasting their times, and if you don't pay 300 bucks per night for a hotel room, you're stupid, and staying in a flea bag hotel....and how everyone should be playing 10/7 DDB poker, or not play at all...

What ever happened to the nice folks that used to simply enjoy a good report, who thanked the author for sharing??

Now its all...you should have done this...or your a fuckin addict...or next time stay in a real hotel.... etc...etc...etc...

i should also mention that this is the first year in about a decade that i didnt renew my lva subscription. there are just way too many people on the paid side who love to jump into threads and rip people apart for doing vegas differently than they do themselves. it used to be limited to the free side. not anymore.

I ended up taking a year off, and the boards have changed very much since then. Seems to be much less activity, and some people seem much more hostile. Overall, I think the boards are much less informative then in the past.
That said, I never really cared about trip reports. Too many were self-iindulgent and many others turned into threads about what people think you should have done. Post them if you have them, I'll continue to not read most of them anyway.

The first thing DonDiego does every morning, . . . well, technically the second thing DonDiego does, . . . is put his own panties in a wad so no one else can get his panties in a wad.

Lots of regulars, . . . and DonDiego is not implying that anyone remaining is irregular, . . . departed during and soon after the beta fiasco, . . . during which and about which DonDiego remembers saying: "The better is the enemy of the good enough," . . . . and have not returned.

Maybe some folks have just lost interest in Las Vegas or gambling in general, as the economy poohs out. Maybe they should have. Maybe others will, . . .soon.

For the record, DonDiego would never suggest anyone take a day-trip or longer to Atlantic City. Anywhere beyond a block from the Boardwalk, Atlantic City is a cesspool. DonDiego is trying to imagine how fantastic Atlantic City could've been if only they'd taken advantage and allowed sports betting there. Clean streets, happy citizens, unpolluted sea air, fixed-up shanties, greenery everywhere with fine walking paths for neighborly folks and tourists alike, . . . or maybe, it'd still be a cesspool.
Hmm, . . . maybe jenaphir should give it a try anyway. Just for a day.

DonDiego quit composing trip reports, because he lives 2000 miles from Las Vegas and has only been there once since he moved East. He opines occasional forays into Indian Gaming Territory would be as uninteresting to the readers as they are to DonDiego himself.

Oh, . . . and by the way, . . . DonDiego apologizes if anyone finds his posts self-indulgent. He doesn't intend, . . . umm, . . . wait a minute! Hah! Just kidding, DonDiego will persist in posting self-indulgent posts until he is the last poster standing !

Funny,I was thinking about not renewing my subscription.And I've been an LVA member ,I think,over 20 years.

I was never offended by the discussions over taking multiple comps OR the discussion over craps. And anytime anyone would like to discuss these or other subjects here, I am absolutely happy to engage in the discussions. For heaven's sake, what is a forum for but to have discussions? And if you think Im going to get shaken up by nasty comments-- Im not. And if you get shaken up by nasty comments on an open forum by posters using anonymous handles then I suggest you don't participate. Rizzo fire away at me buddy. Just don't scratch my car. And I do tip well and with a smile and a "thank you" too.
