What's happened to LVA ?

Is it just poor old DonDiego, . . . or has this thread degenerated ?

If Anthony bothers you so much then why don't you leave? Your 2 posts in this thread exemplify the problems with LVA.

So you read them, then, especially the one that said I would join to get the coupon book if it seemed worthwhile. Add hammerhead to your description.

I think David Matthews formed a band.

Well, I think things have dropped off around here for many of the reasons stated.

Here's my list which has already been mentioned one way or another by various posters:

You can't teach an old dog new tricks.

AC now and then rubs people the wrong way.

Some great posters developed a bad gambling habit and joined Gamblers Anonymous.

Economy has turned out to be a bummer for lots of folks.

Some nasty people showed up and made their presence felt.

Information on LV has gotten kind of stale
for lots of people who are vets here.

A number (?) of people no longer see the value
of paying for the coupons and hence have departed.

An equal number of people no longer see the value of being here even if they did not pay
anything at all.

The Beta attempt was Dark City for most.

Other than that, the place still rocks!

I really liked David Matthews' columns. I'm just wondering if the fact he clearly explained why Harrah's WSOP was a bad gamble and a bit of a ripoff, while LVA was promoting poker books and Harrah's, factored into it. Matthews seemed like such a straight shooter, and I could see him being told to spin his columns a different way and not taking it well. I'm just speculating, but he was so dry and so honest while the rest of LVA was promoting poker books and hyping Annie Duke and poker forums and all that, I could see issues easily developing. He left shortly after his column stating why he would not participate in the WSOP, and explaining why nobody should.

This needs more love!

I really do not understand what the fuss is all about. This forum is a reflection of society in general. We have a majority of posters who are nice people, and a few bad apples.

I beleive posters who live reasonably close to each other should make an effort to meet in person. A while back, I met PJ Stroh and Boilerman in Indianapolis for dinner. They are both super nice individuals, even though Boilerman's politics are 180 degrees opposite mine (whatever happened to Boilerman?).

If this forum has gone downhill, I beleive it to be a direct cause of the polluting effect of blackjesus, who quite possibly is the most disgusting and vile poster I have ever seen on this board. Since I have not seen him post in quite sometime, I assume AC banned him. If that is the case, GOOD FOR YOU, ANTHONY!
