Whats happening in Vegas this weekend?

Will be in town this weekend. I was comped a suite downtown but a friend who want's to tag along is complaining about the unusually high room prices for downtown.

I did a quick perusal and found nothing out of the ordinary except maybe the Lakers playing a game in town. Would that raise occupancy that much?
The largest convention is at Mandalay Bay:
10/15/2016 10/18/2016 Scientific Assembly 2016 Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino 12,000.
Big deal.

I tried to book 2 nights back in August at the MSS. It was already booked solid..Not sure why.
I'm there 18-19.

Maybe the Red Bull Air Races at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway? I'm sure that event would have some impact.
The whole month is expensive. What difference does it make why

Air races...Hmmmmm.

Got a little worried there for a second. All aviation concerned with the races is at the speedway. VGT has plenty of tie down space.

Do the air races bring in much of a crowd? I always thought it was like yacht racing. Mostly for the competitors and family.
Shoot a little craps this weekend? Iron cross?Triple on the field?
I would like to see you at a table that I chose to play.
Fremont or the Main Street Station perhaps? I'm a Boyd's Boy.

Vegasdev may be in town as well.
Anyone else? Iron cross:

Pjstroh can take a day off to learn.
DTG for me on the 17th.

DTG

It's almost time for some fun.
and don't forget, the final debate of 2016 is on the 19th of Oct. a day or two before that, Vegas will be filling up with the media freaks.
The NYC Red Bull race draws a pretty big crowd, but I don't know how many out of owners it brings in.

I don't know what kind of crowd it draws. The Reno air races are a big draw there, but I haven't been to either of them. I would love to be there to watch.
I think it's because I'm gonna be in town.
