What's With This HASHTAG Nonsense?

I don't Twitter.....and I don't Tweet...so I hope I don't come back as a bird in my next life. But I usually listen to Mike and Mike on ESPN when I wake up in the middle of the night and usually watch it for a couple of hours until I fall back to sleep again.

So nowadays they have a lot of people "tweeting" them and I keep on hearing them say, "hashtag this and "hashtag" that. So I roll over and look at the screen and all I see are "pound" signs when they are saying "hashtags". So I'll go out on a limb here and say that "hashtags" has replaced the "pound" sign! Right? How did this ever come into being? People get tired of saying, "pound sign"?

What exactly does the "hashtag" do? I know when I go to my voicemail and put in my PIN number, it tells me to hit the pound sign after I've entered the PIN number. If G-D wanted the pound sign to become a "hashtag", would he have sent us some ind of sign? Just wondering!

For computer programmers, a "hash" is a really efficient way of making a "key" pair up with an associated value. And the keys always hook up with a specific value; they don't just "pound" with anything that happens to be lying around. So they're probably not your style.

Unless I get a text from someone...like Star.........I don't know how to send a text to someone not on my contact list. For example, if say there's a contest and they say text 99765 to ESPN.com I wouldn't know how to do that.

Girl, I never saw a "tramp stamp" be called anything else but that. Just found out my neighbor has one after she bent down to put things in her car. I wouldn't mind stamping that tramp!

I bet when Bags types in a web addy he still types "www".
