We too are "low rollers" when it comes to gambling and I have a sickness that causes me to spend a dime in order to save a penny.
That said, my wife has a weakness for hotel rooms. She wants to stay in extravagent, over the top places and doesn't mnd paying for it. So....We have stayed in some pretty nice suites in Vegas.
The nicest I have ever stayed in (but didn't pay for, (we were guest's of friends) was the Villas at Belaggio. Three bedrooms, at least 5 bathrooms, huge patio with private pool and hot-tub, outdoor fireplace, private gym, massage room, sauna, barber/beauty room, personal butler assigned only to that suite. I can only imagine how much my friend drops in the casino to get that place comped.
My favorite is the Sky Lofts at MGM. Two stories, two bedrooms, full kitchen, large, two storey balcony with a hot-tub overlooking the strip. Pool table, poker table, HUGE TV in the main room. A well apponted modern office (important for my wife), a bathtub with large flat screen and infinity tub. It is pricey, around $900 a night if I remember correctly.
Getting closer to earth and where we stay more often is the Golden Nugget downtown. If were bringing the in-laws we get the old two bedroom suite. Its three old tower rooms connected. Two full bedrooms with a parlor between. This is more reasonably priced.
Also at the GN is the Spa suite. We stay here when its just the two of us. Two storeys, loft type bedroom upstairs, floor to ceiling windows the length of both storeys, overlooks the pool. It can get a little loud when theres a party going on at the pool. We also were entertained by a couple next door one night....my wife thought they might be newlyweds but I thought they were a very religous couple for all the calling out to God.
Getting to the suites that aren't really suites.
The corner suite in the Rush Tower at GN are nice but merely an oversized room with a large sectional couch and two TVs. Nice bathrooms though and quiet.
The last place we stayed was definately not a suite, even though they called it one. In the new building at the Golden Gate. The room was no bigger than a normal room on the strip. Maybee even smaller than some. It was a Queen sized bed and a smallish L-shaped couch in the same room. The bathroom vanity was even right there in the room with you. No tub, just a shower. BUT, it was pretty cheap for a nice room. Just don't call it a suite.
