What's Your Never, Ever Again Vegas Hotel?

I agree. I have had two bad experiences there as well. Front check in desk people need to learn customer service skills.

Never at the IP again. Was there in April and check-in took an eternity, elevators where slower than turtles on stairs and the smoke/stench was unbearable. The topper was the mold in the glasses in the bathroom.
There was gold in the molasses?
My never again hotel is the Wynn. I stayed there last summer and instead of staying at one of the Harrah's properties for free, I decided to treat myself to the Wynn since I received an offer for $99 a night. It was a bad experience from the check in when at 5pm we were told our room was not ready but they would call shortly on my cell phone to let me know when I could pick up the key. I then noticed all the other visitors leaving the desk with keys and after 2 hours of waiting for them to call (they never did) I went to the desk to get our room key.
For a 5-star place I was disappointed in the room. There was 2 beds but no chairs to sit on so we had to lay on the beds to watch tv. there was a desk to use but no chair to do any work.
I had set up a $10,000 credit line before I arrived but as I knew I would never return, they did not get any of my money for those 3 days as I went to Caesar's to play.

The Flamingo sucked. The pool area was ridiculously crowded if you didn't come out at 7 am to reserve a chair. It was a struggle to find a spot for 1 let alone 2 or 3 at the pool. It was impossible to navigate the lobby without being harrassed by time share hawkers, there was a really loud band playing at night right near the crap tables, you could hardly hear yourself let alone the stickman.
I also think Harrrahs sucks as a hotel. The pool area assumes only a handful of guests will use it--way too small. The rooms have some energy saving (energy saver=doesn't work)system that causes the air conditioning to go in and out--sweated like an mf all night.
On another note, if these hotels are interested in energy savings, why do some of them(I talking about you Green Valley and Red Rock) insist on leaving the plushest down comforters on the beds in 110 degree weather in the Vegas summers?
Even attempt to walk into the Vegas Club.
Super 8 on Boulder Highway (can't recall what casino it's connected to). Must have been 2003 or 2004.

The joint had a laundry room with a sign that said detergent could be purchased in the gift shop. Went into said gift shop and found a packet of detergent that cost $1.32 or something. Put a $5 on the counter and said I thought I had the exact change. By the time I fished out the 32c the clerk had put the bill in the cash drawer. He took the change and I waited for my $4.00.

The clerk just stood there, so I said 'I gave you a five.' He said 'You gave me a one.' I said 'I gave you a five.' He said 'You gave me a one. You need to pay closer attention.' When I saw he wasn't going to budge I didn't know what else to do but leave.

After finishing my laundry I checked out of the hotel. On checkout I mentioned the incident to the desk clerk. She explained that the gift shop was an independent business not owned by the hotel. But she did ask if the clerk currently in the shop was the same one who had waited on me. He wasn't, and I gave a description of the one who had. The hotel clerk then informed me somewhat apologetically that I had been ripped off by the owner of the shop. At that point I didn't see where I had any hope of further action.

When I got home I wrote a letter to the general manager of the hotel, describing the incident. I explained that I realized that the shop was an independent business and that the hotel had no control over what happened there. But I also mentioned that most people who visit the gift shop probably associate it with the hotel. And probably associate any negative experiences they have there with the hotel. And that this individual should probably be talked to by the hotel and made aware of this.

I never heard back from the hotel, either to apologize or to let me know that any action had been taken. As a result my opinion of the hotel is only somewhat higher than my opinion of the gift shop and its owner.
I guess mine are maxim, well sort of,and summer bay resorts. Have only stayed at rio and polo towers otherwise. Loved polo towers and no complaints on rio(GREAT time drunken craps playing, had no idea what i was doing, but won a pocketful of chips). Staying at plaza, harrahs and PHO towers, will report any negatives.

The Paris. Last time I stayed there, valet parking "lost" my rental car. By the time they found it, I had missed my flight home. Not only did I have to cover all of the cost of changing my return flight to the next day, the Paris wouldn't comp me a room for the extra night that I needed. I paid for a room at another property for that night. That left a real bad taste in my mouth.
