When your objective is to play for "score" or "ranking"

Singers 'special plays' avoid optimal play to hit more of the highest paying hands. You're looking for a strategy that avoids optimal play to hit more of the lowest playing hands. You need the "Bizzaro Singer Strategy".
Too bad you can't buy points from the casinos like you can buy miles from the airlines. That way your friend could just give the casino $500 and buy enough points to get that free buffet.
Okay just because I don't want my math to get rusty. JOB, 5 hours of play @800 hands/hr. = 20,000 coin in. Strategy= whenever you have a small pair and at least one HC, and the draw to the pair is the best available draw (no flush draw) draw instead to the HC(s). This event will happen 22% of the time. You can expect this play alone to cost you over $1150 or close to 6%. That being the case, refer to arc's suggestion, play slots. Perhaps the reason people weren't falling over each other to run the numbers as you asked was that the strategy was so bad the only question was would it cost $200/hr. or $400/hr. On a brighter note, I'm working on a strategy which involves throwing away all red (hearts and diamonds)cards.
Yeah, but when you hold one high card you have a chance at a RF. No chance for the RF if you hold the pair. None. Zippo.

There is no way to "run numbers" when no base numbers are provided. You cannot determine strategy variations without knowing little things, like what exactly is the goal. How many tier points, what denom is being played, how much loss is acceptable, etc. etc.

That said, I can never imagine holding a high card over a low pair would be valid in anything but a very small sized sample. You only get 5% more winners and the difference in return is more than a small amount. However, there are plays where the variance could be greater and the difference in return smaller if one had a good set of numbers to work with.

In my opinion, I wouldn't play JOB. I would rather bump it up to Bonus Poker at the least, and DDB and the most. My thinking is that any 4OAK hit on either BP or DDb would increase his playing time, especially if he hit one of the bonus hands. Any 4OAK in DDB would give him 250 credits which is double what he would get on either BP or JOB. On BP if he hit 4 Aces or 4 2-3-4'she would get the 400 or 200 credits which would carry him a lot further than any 4OAK he would hit in JOB.
dear lord. moneyla is claiming to have a "friend" who has these questions that require thought out detailed answers and moneyla is posting for him....are we supposed to believe that these two are sitting side by side at a monitor so that the "friend" can provide any follow up information?

ugh.

The only issue with DDB and other Bonus games that do not pay double for two pair is you will go through your roll that much quicker.

Tonight, I put $4,000 coin through (400 tier points, (thats 1,600 hands)) playing 8/5 Bonus Poker at $0.50 level and only had one 4oak (J's for $125). I lost $200 in the process. (thats 1,600 hands).

Now way I could come close to grinding that playing 9/6 DDB that was also available. (unless I hit a big hand in the process).
