where to find $5 craps in Vegas

Bagiant, Yes Sams does have $5 tables.
I saw this thread yesterday but didn't have time to jump in. I'm a locals casino who has been playing craps for about 10 or 11 years now. I can't think of a locals joint that doesn't have $5 craps, sometimes less. On a busy weekend night, most minimums are $10, but they usually still have one $5 table. Getting on that table won't be easy, but it's there.

Good Luck!

Bills (Barbary Coast) Gamblin' Hall, has a $5.00 live game + you can play their Rapid Craps game for $3.00.

About tipping at a craps table.....

I'm a $5 player, but usually have a lot of money on the table as I play the pass and come bets up to three numbers, with 3-5x odds.

If I'm losing, I generally do not tip. However, if I'm down to under $10, I'll just leave and toss the change to the dealers. Likewise if I win a small amount...under $200, I'll toss the dealers a nickel and whatever loose dollars there happens to be. I'll tip up to around $15 when I leave if I'm up $300-500. Never won more than that so can't say what would happen then.

But a few times I've won an not tipped. I played twice at Stratosphere and won't play there again. I tipped neither time as their craps dealers are hustlers and mean people. Venetian also. I was playing a $10 table there and actually overheard two of the craps dealers bemoaning the lack of people playing "real" money. I won a few hundred, picked up, and left without leaving a tip. Eff em. Another place I'll never play again(except poker).

And thats the real problem. $5 isn't enough? $5 tokes don't add up? Really? Contrast this with Golden Nugget and TI, where I tip everytime, win or lose. Cause their dealers are decent, and even ok with the new players. Yah know, one night I was at IP, before the McHarrahs era. At the time they counted your odds bets. I was literally the only craps player in the entire place, at my typical $5 3-5x odds. And I started playing. I won a little and placed a few hardways for the dealers at $2 a shot. They hit, I rolled ok..nothing spectacular. And we were having a great time(myself and the dealers). I wound up staying and playing for 4 hours. The table filled and I kept going. I wound up playing maybe $50 in bets for the dealers...I was just in a good mood...now break it down and thats only $12.50 an hour for a table with three employees...but they treated me well and I think people played at that table just because they could see the positive vibe. I cashed out for +$175 at the end of 4 hours. I checked my player card the next day, and darned if there wasn't $100 in comps on there.

If I could bottle that game...the employee attitudes and so forth...and use it as a training video...
Does anyone ever play at the Hilton on swing shift. My GF's brother in law is a craps floor supervisor....pit boss....at the Hilton. Name is Sam B. As you might know, people in the pit can be replaced or quit at any time. He's been there 35+ years. My GF's ex is a craps dealer at Harrah's, and he's been there 31 years.

I tip the normal people-cocktail girls, bartenders, waitresses, etc.
The only dealers I ever tip are BJ dealers if I get way ahead or if they make a "mistake" paying me on a losing hand or not taking my money on a draw.

Why would they take your money on a draw?

melbedewy doesn't tip or know how to play. Dealers must love you.
