Where to pee?

The NC law and the resulting accusations and boycotts, not to mention the companys that are having a tizzy about it is absolutely ridiculous. Will it really and truly scar Bruce Jenner for life if he can't take a leak in the womens room? or the woman who really, really wants to take a dump in the mens room? What the hell is the world coming to? Seriously, where to relieve oneself is actually a national concern/debate/fight in this age? Aren't there bigger things to be concerned about than where someone takes a shit?

What's to say some freakozoid isn't just stalking some mother and little daughter, waiting for them to go into the restroom when he whips out a dress, puts it on, follows them in and attacks them? There's so, so many things that could go wrong here I can't believe it's even an argument.

I'll say it again, does it really matter that much, where a person relieves themselves? Is it really a matter of national concern?

It matters to three groups; 1) those who do not want someone using the designated restroom, men's or ladies, whose natural physical plumbing is different, 2) perverts who want to and will take advantage of those of the opposite sex, and 3) those who have nothing to do but stir up trouble. I belong to the first group.

If it doesn't really matter why can't anyone just go to which ever one is cleanest?

Openly gay people aren't nearly as scary in bathrooms as sexually repressed evangelicals...did you read the latest on former Speaker Dennis hastert ? Maybe its time we stop listening to their caucus.

I'm glad science is beginning to prevail on this issue instead of the preachings of Jerry fallwell.

Perhaps the gays wouldn't want a bunch of messy straights in their bathrooms. Its amazing that tens of thousands of people manage to fly each day on planes with unisex bathrooms but put one in a Hardees and its the seventh sign or something.

I also cannot believe NC could be so stupid as to enact such a law.

But, more to the point...who is going to "rule" on what a person's original gender is/was before they go into a restroom, anywhere?

Bruce Jenner now identifies fully as a female, Caitlyn. In a Federal facility she would have the right to be assigned to a female semi-private room and use the female bathroom, whether or not she has had genitalia alteration. If she preferred to have male roommates, same thing. If complaints arise, we were to find a solution (find a private room, a room where the male patient didn't object (perhaps in a coma?), etc.

Attorneys everywhere will make money off of this law until it is stricken down.

It is called gender dysmorphia, a medically recognized diagnosis where the individual identifies as being of the opposite sex, usually manifesting in late childhood. It is not the same as homosexuality, which is sexual attraction to persons of the same sex.

Poor old DonDiego is already sufficiently decrepit that he prefers to sit down when he pees, if only to keep his pants from being spotted. And he supposes those nearby at a stand-up urinal, especially those with quality footwear, would prefer DonDiego were seated elsewhere as well.

And in any case, he would prefer the stall be opaque.
