While Obama sleeps

Somehow, I'm thinking Secretary of State John Kerry, an actual war hero with a Silver Star, a Bronze Star, three Purple Hearts, and all the resources of our nation's intelligence agencies at his immediate disposal knows more about the relative warfighting capabilities of these nations right now than you do. For instance he knows that Ukraine has more tanks, armored vehicles, and artillery than your chart says Russia has positioned.

Honestly, I think there's a sick subset of Americans drooling for this to become a shooting war so they'll have stuff to watch on TV.

Chilcoot - There's a sick subset of Americans drooling for this to become a shooting war so their stock in Halliburton will go up.

Did you hear that nutcase Sarah Palin calling for a nuclear war with Russia ? That frickin whackjob AK half governor was the featured speaker at that clown college they call CPAC. She stood out amongst the usual self important billionaires at that so called convention trying to escalate this Russia/Ukraine thing into a East/West war.

DonDiego certainly hopes Secretary Kerry knows more than poor old DonDiego, . . . although the Secretary has occasionally shown himself to be ill-informed. DonDiego remains curious as to why the Secretary referenced only the relatively small number of troops legally in Crimea, . . . pr'b'ly some sorta diplomatic ploy.

For the record DonDiego wants no shooting war, . . . anywhere. He particularly wants no shooting war involving the USA. He most particularly wants no shooting war involving Russia and the USA. He explicitly wants no shooting war involving Russia and the USA in eastern Europe. Them Russkies gots nukes!
DonDiego fully expects the Russians to occupy the eastern portion of Ukraine; he hopes casualties are low.
N Y Times

But, . . . DonDiego recognizes the requirement to fight a shooting war for some things. And he suspects the USA will have to fight for one of them sometime, . . . most likely against radical religious extremists with "The Bomb" and second-most-likely for energy resources. Heckfire, DonDiego may even live to see it.

Hmm, still no "DonDiego" in there.

The US 66th Military Intelligence Brigade just gave an MQ-5B drone over Crimea to the Russkies. An Avtobaza ground-based electronic intelligence and jamming system broke the drone's link to the US operator and the drone made an emergency landing. The Russkies took possession of the undamaged drone in "their" territory.

A Pentagon spokesperson promptly denied the drone belonged to the US 4 times in answer to 4 questions on the topic. The fifth time they responded "if you like your doctor you can keep your doctor." [Ha ha ! DonDiego made that last sentence up.]

Is a drone flight an "incursion"?

Kind of you to pass along as-yet unverified press releases from Vladimir Putin's government as established fact. I particularly like how you said we "gave" the drone to the Russians. Because that's what our armed services do, give advanced weapons to our adversaries.

Are you really an American? Is the "Don" in your fake name an homage to a river in your motherland?
This week it looks like the chilly personality of the dual chilly/jilly personality is dominant this week

Well it is becoming something of a habit.

DonDiego is, indeed, an American citizen, . . . born in Bethlehem, PA, just like Baby Jesus.

DonDiego is a pseudonym in honor of Zorro, who makes the sign of the "Z".

What you said was that we "gave" our drone to Russia. "Gave" being the simple past tense of give, a word with this definition:

Why did you say that? You have a command of most aspects of the English language (with the glaring exception of pronouns (poor teechur)), why did you write that we "gave" Russia a drone?

Still no confirmation that the Russian propaganda you unthinkingly posted here to make our military look bad is true, let alone any reason to think we "gave" the drone away. In fact, the U.S., a nation I generally support, has denied the report you parroted.

(By the way, there is no such thing as a MQ-58 drone).

DonDiego thanks Chilcoot for the correction; it is a MQ-5B, not an MQ-58 drone. (DonDiego has corrected his post.)
