Of course people like to hear about train wrecks. Gary Carter was an all around great guy, baseball player with lots of money and fame. Someone most men would envy. The poor guy gets sick and dies at 57. Who wants to dwell on that. It's depressing. It's not fair.
Whitney was a great singer, beautiful woman and screwed her life up. In the "fairness" of life it make sense to us and we tell ourselves we can learn from her mistakes.
