Who has Tattoos?

A good Tattoo artist will tell you that, if they are honest. It's nothing more than an assumption to say they won't look just like the blue blurs seen today on many care home residents who got a tattoo 40+ years ago.
Tattoo.com Q&A on aging

your editor called. he wants you to know you are fired for spewing a bunch of bullshit and then linking an article as "proof" when the article pretty much clearly lays out the reasons you are wrong. great job.

you are the type of person who refuses to believe logic. i have tattoos that are 22 years old, there is no smudging and there will never be. hell, i could show you them in another 22 years and you will STILL insist "wait a little longer".

i cant believe this actually needs to be said, but given your opposition to the obvious - some old, closeminded, judgemental ignoramus spouting a bunch of unfounded prejudicial bullshit about perceiving anything about the sex life of a woman with a tattoo, of which he knows a grand total of zero about my personal sex life, was never taken personally.

i do still think you are all the things i have said you are and because of that, there is nothing you could ever say to me that i would accept as valid since you have proven that you dont base your opinions on actual facts. just dullwitted "perceptions" that are based on nothing other than your prejudices that are founded by your own inferiorities.

id suggest maybe talking to a shrink about your problems, but then id feel bad if it turned out that dr milled was a shrink because given his interest in learning anything past the 1940's, he would probably perform shock therapy or maybe even a lobotomy on you. not that the latter would affect anything, mind you.

jenaphir- If I was a shrink I would consider shock therapy or a lobotomy for you. It certainly couldn't hurt.

how completely shocking. no pun intended.
Now then, Igor, where did I put that electrode?

I draw the line at Female Genital Tattoos. Pun intended.
I love the argument that tattoos will lose their appeal as your body ages.
I'll let you in on a secret....your tattoo-less body will lose its appeal as it ages too.

yes- no one looks good naked over 50. This is why; hopefully, we develop our minds so kindness/empathy and giving back comes forward.
No one gets out alive..

I'm not sure where your anger issues are coming from jenaphir - I've got nothing against you or your tats. If you read the item I linked then you saw the last line in which the artist stated "Tattoo pigments today are brighter, WAY more diverse, and will hold up a lot better... probably. (Honestly, many of the tattoo inks that are most popular today are only a decade-and-change old at most, so we'll just have to wait and see!)". This is the opinion of a tattoo artist. My brother, who was also a tattoo artist for almost 20 years until he passed away in July, was also of the opinion that the inks today will probably last longer and age better than old style inks. Operative word being "probably". I'm pleased that your 22 year old tats are looking good. I hope they still do in 22 years. But unless you've got a crystal ball you really don't know what will happen - that is logic.

As far as how they look as a body changes with age, I was thinking more from the angle of the visibility/placement of of those tats. I've seen young girls (late teens/early 20s) getting them on highly visible parts of their bodies - body parts which will most likely change as they age. What looks awesome on your upper arm as a skinny 20 yr old may not be quite as appealing on a flabby 45 yr old arm - yet it will be just as visible on a daily basis. That same tattoo on a butt cheek won't be as readily visible to the world later in life so if it stretches or distorts it won't be as much of a concern. I have two co-workers who, after many years and a few kids, now regret that they didn't choose different spots to put some of their tattoos. Note, they don't regret getting the tattoos but they do regret that they now feel a need to hide what doesn't look quite as good anymore by wearing longer sleeved clothes, etc. That's all I was getting at. Kind of like what pjstroh said in his earlier comment about a tattoo on his abs not looking as good as it used to. Aging is a fact of life - but one that isn't always considered when making such a permanent decision as a very young person.

I did. Did you? While there have been some offensive comments from some posters, I see no need for you to lash out at posters who have not personally attacked you, but have simply responded to the thread.
