Who's On Top Of The Online Poker WorldNow?

Who now takes of the place of Poker Stars,Full Tilt, Absolute and UB?

Who's left to have the satellites needed to fill up seats in the WSOP? Bodog....Cake...Doyle's Room? Obviously, the WSOP will have a lot lower attendance than in recent former years.

DOJ sure picked a fine time to start their BS!!

Unfortunately, the jury is still out.

The other sites are most likely still violating the UIGEA and financial laws. They could conceivably find themselves facing the wrath of the DOJ as well.

Although "we" can still play cash game poker on other sites, of the 49 poker sites tracked by Poker Scout, only 8 are currently accepting US players. and at approximately 11:45 am today, there are a total of 3746 cash game players on those specific "US" player sites. (Some of those could be bots) Merge has the most at 1779, and only 6 of the sites have any action. One site only has 6 players, another 22.

IMO, the "current" future of online poker for US Players lies in the "club" sites, where you pay a monthly fee and "free" tournaments, freerolls, etc. However, not all US players can join, as they apparently fall into the "Sweepstakes" category, and players from some states find themselves unable to play on those sites.

Online poker is in limbo unless and until the DOJ "settles", and/or legislation is passed and enacted, and the licensing, etc resolved to the satisfaction of those in power. I figure two - three years or more until we're able to play again.

The WSOP may not be as badly affected as many think. Although there will be fewer US Player's, those seats may be filled by "foreign" players this year. Yes, there will be smaller fields in the pricier events.

Still, US Players have their flights and rooms reserved and paid for. I believe the majority will still make the trip, but play in smaller events or cash games.

Many Brick and Mortar rooms have WSOP satellites, and some have started them recently. And there will be a plethora of them in Vegas. There just will not be satellites for a few dollars to potentially win a seat in the main event available to US Players. B & M rooms with satellites will have larger entry fees.

2012 WSOP could be an entirely different situation.

That's my opinion, and I'm sticking to it for the time it take me to publish this message. I reserve the right to change my opinion at any time based on any reason or lack of reason.

No site takes the place until the court cases get heard. I see them all shutting down for US players.
When I posted my previous message, there were 9 sites still accepting US Players.

I just checked Poker Scout, and as I type this now, there are 8 site.

I logged into both my Stars and Tilt accounts and have noticed that my cash and Fpp's are not showing. Both have the freerolls to get the WSOP seats, so that should not be a problem except for the FPP and cash entries.

My FullTilt money shows but I can't deposit or withdraw.

According to both sites, they are working with the feds to find a way to folks to cash out their accounts and get their money. I figure some time between now and and a few years.
The sites have announcements about the process to cash out, and the timeline.

I'd expect that well within 90 days all players will have their money.

Yea, IF they can find a processor to refund everyones money. I remember they said something simular when NETTELLER went by the way side. How long did it take to receive funds from that account?
There were "other" considerations with the Netteller situation. The claim process to get cashed out took 18 months.

I know, because I eventually received my several thousand dollars, and no harm was done other than elevation of my blood pressure for a short period of time "worrying". After UIGEA, I'd withdrawn the majority of my money from the sites I played, and "left" it in Netteller thinking I'd be safe and have immediate access if I needed it.

This time around, the DOJ has graciously decided to allow players to retrieve their money. The process is significantly different, and finding a processor should not be too difficult.

However, the sites want to keep the expense at a minimum, so there will be some dilly dallying until a frugal vendor meeting DOJ approval steps forward, or a new company formed for this express purpose.

Once again I am going to mention Poker Scout. They appear to be "on top" of the online poker world news, stats, etc. A informational site begun in 2006, it's always been reliable and accurate.
