Who's Running the Show ????

So this morning while driving through town on my way to work, I see a kid wearing summer shorts while waiting for the school bus .

Now although it wasn't as cold as Monday morning when it was 16 degrees BELOW, it was no heat wave out there this morning either.

What's wrong with these dumb-ass kids ????

Don't the parents care ????

Who's running the family show ????

By the way it was 2 Degrees this morning.

Rick
The parents are probably already at work and have no idea. I work at a middle school and I'd say about 25% of the boys wear shorts every day and only about 10% ever wear a heavy coat. I live in the Seattle area so I doubt its ever been -15 but it can still get pretty cold. The kids don't like to wear coats because they don't have lockers or coat racks to store them and they have to carry them around all day. I'm not sure what the deal is with the shorts.

Sounds like somebody was on some good drugs. -16 and wearing shorts?

Yep!!
I guess at one point we were all dumb-ass kids. Hell, I remember, wearing mini-skirts, in the dead of winter, knee high boots and a short jacket. Froze my ass off, but, heck, that was the early '70's. My kids went to a Catholic H.S., uniform of khaki slacks, shorts and white shirts. Some of the boys wore shorts all year long. At 1st, the school admin said no, but, when they protested and said they were in uniform, which they were, it became a mute point. Remembering my mini-skirt days, when my son started wearing shorts all year long....well, go ahead...just don't come crying to me about the cold. Before you know it, he went back to his long pants for the winter.

My son is 14. He does not own a winter coat. He does not want a winter coat. I do not buy him a winter coat because he will not wear a winter coat. There is 1 hoodie cold, 2 hoodie cold and 2 hoodies plus a winter Under Armor cold.
I teach school and our kids wear shorts and hoodies year round. I am in Texas though.
Maybe he was from alaska. Did he look like this?
