You don't actually believe what you just posted, do you? Inside information on the randomness of the dice used by the casino's? What the hell does that mean? Doubling your bets after losing is called the Martingale system. The Martingale has sent many gamblers to the poorhouse.

Since you win 80%-85% of your sessions, I guess you will never have to work for a living, right? Gimme a break!

Lighten up. My take on her post was that she was kidding.

Speaking of Martingale, I watched two twenty somethings one time playing Martingale on the Field bet. They were yelling loudly and high fiving and thought they had found the Holy Grail. Well of course a little later on a series of non Field numbers were rolled (5,6,7,8) and they were completely clobbered. I almost felt bad for them, but decided it was a good lesson in life for them.

Kay Pea was being sarcastic. Well done, Kay Pea. For someone who says they dont play, you certainly know a lot about playing.

Anyway, Kay Pea, some of what you said in your sarcastic prose is followed by many devoted craps players:

Yes, there are "special plays" and these include the doey dont, then betting odds on the dont when its an outside number, and betting odds on the do for inside number.

So called "inside information" might pertain to the history of the shooter. Some shooters have a reputation for being better than others.

Yes, there is something about the "dice used by casinos." Old dice with rounded corners are believed to favor the shooter. I dont understand that belief, but its out there. Personally, I prefer the new, sharper corners which are easier to grip and throw and handle.

"I also know how to pick a hot table." Yes Kap Pea, if you notice other players will flock to the tables where there is a lot of cheering. New players entering the craps pit will look to see which tables have the full racks because those players are winning and the belief is a hot table will stay hot.

And KayPea wrote "One key to my system is that you should start doubling your bets if you are losing." Don't laugh. It happens.

But the bottom line is that craps is a negative expectation game and everyone of the above can't offset the fact that craps is a negative expectation game. So why do players do these things? Why do very intelligent people (who dont believe in DI) even bother to play the game?

By the way Kay Pea, how do you know so much when you say you don't play?

Why?

Because blackjack makes me sleepy.
Why do smart people play slots or the lottery?

Why do dumb people post dumb posts?

Yo-11,

It was inside baseball, click here for some background Review of "The Undeniable Truth about Video Poker"
Played wisely, craps is good, cheap entertainment.
Smart people realize they cant beat any game in the casino so they just play the ones with the best odds...

Dumb people are the ones who watch the Vegas documentaries on TV about people who have beat the casino and think they can too. For every smart person that can actually beat the casino there are 1000 dumb people who think they are that smart...but aren't. (I'm smart enough to know I'm too dumb to beat the house. )

I don't think dumb or smart has as much to do with not being willing to dedicate the time needed to beat the house. Few people are willing to take the time to learn much more than basdic strategy in BJ, let alone the some 200 indices that exist. Its a matter of putting in time. Few people are dedicated enough to only go to casino X on 10X points days, and casino Y when its their multiple points day.
The ones who put in the work generally succeed. The ones who don't like to think it can't be done.

Depends on how you define "beat the house". The people running from casino to casino for 10x points days are not usually featured on TV.
