With fears of impending violence mounting on the eve of the Republican National Convention, the head of Cleveland’s largest police union called for Ohio Gov. John Kasich to temporarily ban open carrying of guns as crowds of protesters and politicians arrived in town before the Republican National Convention.

Hey! Is this the same Steve Loomis head of Cleveland's largest police union who just said that Obama has “validated the false narrative and the nonsense that Black Lives Matter and the media are pressing out there,” and he said the president has “blood on his hands” that he won’t be able to wash off...
Confused again? Here, let me explain. As a union leader, Loomis considers his job to protect ALL of his union members, both the good cops and the bad cops. In making his request about open carry, he is attempting to protect all cops. In criticizing Black Lives Matter, he is mostly protecting mostly the bad ones.

There, I hope that clears things up for you.
I'm not confused. You are. Union Boss Loomis didn't Criticize Black Lives Matter...
Quoting YOU: "...Steve Loomis head of Cleveland's largest police union who just said that Obama has 'validated the false narrative and the nonsense that Black Lives Matter...'"

So much for confused; now your statements are just dumb and dumber. And oversensitive, as usual.

If an attack on Black Lives Matter is what you got out of Loomis's statement, you need to work on your reading comprehension....a lot.

While it's true he claimed that Black Lives Matter and the Media are pressing nonsense out there to the public. His criticism was directed toward President Obama and Governor Dayton and their lack of leadership and irresponsible statements. Duh. He didn't do that to 'protect bad cops' as you claim. He believes the President has been divisive and that he 'has blood on his hands'.

STEVE LOOMIS, PRESIDENT OF CLEVELAND POLICE PATROLMEN'S ASSOCIATION: The president of the Untied States validated a false narrative and the nonsense that Black Lives Matter and the Media are pressing out there to the public — He validated with his very divisive statements And now we see an escalation.

This has got to end.

We need some leadership in this country to come forward and put an end to this.

I don’t care if it’s clergy or who it is but somebody has to step up and put an end to this. It’s false narrative and people politicizing the false narrative that we have a President of the United States and the governor of Minnesota making a statement less than one day after the police involved shootings.

Those police involved shootings are what absolutely has triggered in rash of senseless murders of law enforcement officers across the country. It is reprehensible.

The president has blood on his hands and it will not be able to come washed off...

How the hell did we ever become the bad guys in this country? I can not imagine how we got here. It is the irresponsible reporting of the media and irresponsible statements from people who are credible - like the president

It's should be pretty clear who Union Boss Loomis was criticizing. To an honest person. Still confused? Read the bold.

He represents a police force that is under federal oversight for patterns of violence against residents, represents cops who fired a hundred and something shots into a car, represents a cop who gunned down a kid playing by himself with a toy gun and he wonders how they can be perceived as bad guys by some.
He represents a police force under federal oversight, perceived guilty. This justifies the shooting of cops, perceived dead.

I suspect that you actually believe that you, and those sharing this thought process, are improving this situation.

Open carry is for public domains. A private event on private property is allowed to make whatever rules they want. And no, republicans are that smart, yet liberals want to force private bakeries to make cakes for gay people. Yes and I hate labels, but liberals are on my ever last nerve and if November doesn't come soon......

And yes, Obama and the press should be charged with a dozen crimes and I can't believe no one is crying out for his resignation and impeachment. This is ridiculous....inciting riots, racism, discrimination, acts against the constitution, abuse of power, hate crimes, aiding and abetting, accessory to murder and more. And not just in relation to this black power/cop killing movement, but internationally and the whole prisoner of war exchange, etc etc etc.....why is no one calling for his resignation. He is a danger to society. Again and again and again.

I wish we could have had a glimpse into this side of Obama before he was elected in 2008. The Rev. Wright stuff didn't come out until after the election...Oh wait!

OK, . . . so now that the Republican National Convention in the open-carry city of Cleveland has ended, what is the score for those killed or wounded by gunplay at the Convention site ?

Wounded by Gunfire: 0
Killed by Gunfire: 0

n.b. There were documented incidents of protest and "violence" but less than many expected, as documented by the free-press:
"Violence breaks out as Revolutionary Communists set fire to an American flag at the Republican convention in Cleveland." - Aljazeera
"Why are the protests at the Republican Convention so small?" - The Washington Post

And what is the weekly score so far for those killed or wounded by gunplay in one of America's greatest cities, and perhaps the city with the strictest gun-control laws in the Nation, Chicago:

Wounded by Gunfire: 71
Killed by Gunfire: 11

Ref: heyjackass.com
The The Chicago Tribune also keeps a running list of shooting victims in The Windy City for those interested: 2224 shot so far this year, . . . on a record-setting pace.

No one can tell just how many lives were saved this week by the City of Cleveland and the State of Ohio not instituting an unconstitutional gun ban in The Mistake by the Lake.
What was the body count in Dallas? The police chief there went on record saying that open carry made them waste valuable time identifying the shooter because so many people in the crowd were carrying long rifles.
Cleveland did a good job. The open carry people kept their cool. I guess we can be armed and not have to shoot our political enemies. Or did we just dodge a bullet?
