Why even bother with Vegas anymore?

Given the ever increasing price of airfare, along with trends catering more and more to the elite young crowd and less on gambling, there isn't much reason for a middle age person to head to Las Vegas anymore. I have gone 8 years in a row and doubt I will be going this year. I can find very good gambling options very close to home, along with excellent customer service.
Because Vegas is warmer than Minnesota
I agree with you. We can drive to AC in an hour or a few extra mins. to hit the new De. casinos.
Another option is the just over an hour flight and hour shuttle to Foxwoods. All for a fraction of the cost of Vegas.

What he said!
there are many other places you can go to gamble, and many of them have better gambling. But there is no place quite like Vegas. If your only interest in going to Vegas is going to Sam's Town to play 9/6 Jacks or Better for hours and hours and hours and hours, yeah, I can see why the travel expenses would make it not worth it.

But if your primary purpose for going to Vegas is to stay at a lovely resort, eat at world class restaurants, see some shows, and hang out with some of your friends from all over the place who also love Vegas, then Vegas is really the best place to do all that

I concur.
I agree if you are not going for the ho's or the shows there really isn't a reason to go.
