Why even bother with Vegas anymore?

OK - am I going to regret saying that I don't know who they are?

You don't read the Rizzo reports?

That is almost tantamount to saying you don't know who the president of the U.S. is.

Clinton?

OK - thanks - I read my first Rizzo report last week and really enjoyed it.
Just didn't make the connection.

True, but wouldn't his gambling escapades be the same in a casino anywhere? If he went hang-gliding off the top of Hoover Dam, then that would be a specific Las Vegas story.

With that being said, I prefer LV to my nearest casino which is 2.5 hours away. I would be unhappy if I lost a bunch in a regional casino but I don't mind as much in LV with the comps that I get.

Gambling is more fun in Vegas. They have casinos here in Indiana and some of them have really good games....but its a much more dry experience. There's more energy in Vegas. Maybe thats because people have a "vacation" mentality as oppossed to "just going to kill a few hours" mentality

....or maybe Indiana just has too many boring people.

As a graduate of Indiana State University, I must concur.
The State is filled with very nice, well mannered, quiet, boring people.

From the folks that I have met, I would probably replace "boring" with "reserved". For me, boring is used to describe people who drone on and on about nothing. I like people who don't say too much unless I know them well. Of course, they might think I am a lunatic if I am yelling at the dice.

Larry Bird Rules!

I live in CT, 20 min from Mohegan Sun, 35 min from Foxwoods, and go to Vegas 2-3 times a year. I like the idea of going to alot of different casinos, the 24 hour drinks and food, the huge food and entertainment choices, the relitivly inexpensive gaming, and the fact that there is uaually something new to see or do every time. The thing I really love is the ENERGY of Vegas. I feel it as soon as I get off of the plane...it's kinda electric and I just want to keep going the whole time I am there. It's a rush and a feeling that gets into me and I crave it a few times a year. I don't get that from the casinos here, although I do go to the "Sun" 9 or 10 times a month to play poker
Agrre with everything stated here all rready, i would just add that vegas is over the top, waaayy over the top. Looking out our suite last rip i could see new york with a coaster going thru it,a pyramid, a castle, emerald palace(?) and thats only the south. There's an electricity in the air like no other place. We live close to a w va casino and have never been and AC isn't that far away and haven't been to it in years. Yep, its over the top and stands alone like no other.
