Why I adore Downtown Vegas!

My Vegas bright article on why I adore Downtown!
Vegas Bright Even Used Mostly My Pictures This Week.
I Am Rather Shocked At How Good They Look!

Why I Love Downtown

I recall about 7 years ago buying a round of drinks at the Venetian pool. 4 Bud Lights, 1 Margarita, and one double vodka tonic. $90 plus tip. I assume that the same round today would be $110. 4 metered shots, and domestic beers.

That's just stupid.
Nice article.

I don't care for downtown hotel rooms, but I agree with everything else
I'm guessing that you've never stayed in the Rush Tower at the Golden Nugget.

Why are you complaining about this? The Venetian pool bar has a menu. You can have a look at the prices before ordering (or you could have asked). The hotel wasn't hiding those prices were they? You can add right? You know......like you can add resort fees? You bitch and moan about the prices for drinks at the pool, yet people who think resort fees are a clear example of shady business shouldn't be complaining according to you.......Why am I not surprised you don't see the double standard.

Now that's just stupid!

@Blonde4ever; thanks for sharing. Great read!
Super neat article, we stayed Downtown from 1999 to 2004 about 12 times, mostly at Fitzgeralds but was lured to The Flamingo by comped rooms. Stayed at 4 Queens in Nov 2015, & staying at The D Feb 28- March 5 2016,fell in love with an Old Friend Downtown Las Vegas. Again thanks for the article. Bobby Austin, Tx
i too have abandoned the strip and been staying downtown or GC or the Orleans. GN has nice rooms in the rush tower and gold tower. the Grand has nice rooms as well. both have resort fees so the total price is more than the other downtown properties. I wish the GN would send me some better offers. decent food, reasonable prices at Binions and 4Q. and the MRB is full of good downtown offers.
Nice article. Most of my gambling is video poker and I have stayed away from the strip for years now, except for taking newbies there to take a break from gambling and checking out the monster properties that offer bad gambling.
Another great thing about downtown is the ability to walk from casino to casino in minutes. On most of the strip with the new mega resorts, it takes 30 minutes to leave one's room before arriving the closest casino.
