Why play video poker for the "Long Term" when in the long term, it is a negative expectation game?
On top of that, to realize the full return of a game, it will literally take thousands and thousands of hands.
Putting $1,000,000.00 through a 9/6 JOB machine you are expected to loose at least $4,600. If playing $5 VP thats only 40,000 hands which may or may not be enough for you to see the expected return of that game...
Putting $1,000,000.00 through a 9/6 DDB machine you are expected to loose at least $10,200. If playing $5 VP thats only 40,000 hands which may or may not be enough for you to see the expected return of that game...
Yes there are bonus's and perks from different gaming properties for you to play for to help offset the negative expectation of these games...
But, why not make adjustments to your play's that may cost you pennies when the "math" is figured over the long term, but your short term trip, that play has more potential to pay you more.
My favorite example is in Double Double bonus or any game that does not pay 2 for Two Pair... When dealt Two Pair with a Paying Pair (JJ KK QQ), I dump the non-paying pair and go for 4 of a Kind holding the JJ QQ KK... You could get 3 of a kind, you could get a full house, you could get 4 of a kind... but either way, and that point in time, that specific play, you are still going to get paid the same you would if you held the Two Pair and did not improve.
