why so much negativity towards the locals casinos?

I usually keep a flask of a good single malt scotch in my pocket in Vegas for when I feel like something better that the casino's standard offerings. I've also have brought growlers of beer to the tables as well. The casino doesn't care as long as you're drinking and keeping money in the betting circle.

I have found you have to go off strip to get a good micro beer in a casino. The downtown and locals have a better selection. Biloxi was the worst, though, as the used to have a brewpub but the brewpub beer was not available in the casino. You had to get the standard macro crap. You could not even go into the brewpub and pay for a beer and bring it into the casino. Eventually the brewpub washed out to sea and was never seen again and I have not been back since.

I forgot to add that sometimes having to go to the room to make a cocktail is a good way to get myself away from the tables when I'm "chasing a loss".
lol
I totally enjoy my hotel/casino time. I always book 2 nights even if I have to work a shift as I am only an hour away.(another good break if I am down, lol)
Here's another ritual.
I set my bar up and make a cocktail.(I always have a plastic bag with me so I can get ice before I go to my room.)
I set up my room when I check in. I unpack and hang my clothes or put them in drawers. Put all my bathroom stuff out and see what freebies there are. If not enough I hope to find a housekeeper on the floor to get more. If there isn't one, I hit them up in the am.
Now I am ready for the tables and by this time I am most likely on my 2nd cocktail so I better make a back up to bring downstairs.
lol
ooops...double post, I hit it again , I guess.
this site is slow.

That's just not true at all. AC, Biloxi, Foxwoods, Mohegan, even Pennsylvania, not to mention Reno, Laughlin and Tahoe all have free booooooze-or I would never go there.

Which is a small amount when compared to all the casinos that don't offer it or aren't allowed to offer it outside the Vegas area. Ohio (when done building), Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, and Kansas all don't offer it at all. Even in Michigaan, Pennsylvania, South Dakota, and Iowa where casinos are allowed to give away free alcohol the majority of them don't offer free alcohol. Get out of the Vegas, AC, and Biloxi areas and it's not common to find free alcohol.

Well I've never gambled in the Midwest. Does anyone have a list of the Top 10 US casino destinations? I would think almost all, if not all, of them give free booze...
Vegas, check
AC, check
Biloxi, check
Reno, Laughlin, Tahoe, Wendover, Primm---all checks
Connecticut (2 biggest casinos in N. America)-check
Pennsylvania-check
Tunica-check
New Orleans-check
