Wicked Spoon Buffet

What is the food like at the Cosmopolitan Wicked Sppon Buffet?

Any feedback is appreciated.

Thanks

Diane

Its been two years since my last visit so I don't have the most current info. I went for dinner and paid with a half-price coupon (like the one you get in the MRB here this year).

My feelings were it was a lot of lower end dishes that were prepared with high-end ingredients and presentation: Lots of fancy chicken dishes, fancy vegetable sides and salads, fancy pastas, and fancy gelato.
Everything was delicious...but not much in the way of seafood, steak, or higher end items.

With the coupon I thought it was a good deal. I might have been disappointed paying full price.
We go regularly because of a bogo coupon at lunch. It is a great deal for this price. To me, not worth full price. I will say there desserts are great and easily a ten dollar dessert. Best desserts ever. Their salted caramel ice cream is so good as well as their tres de leche cake. They also used to always have full chocolate covered gourmet strawberries, but then a few times they didn't.

Sushi is standard but good for buffet. Their steak carving is usually very good. I may agree with above. Might be similar to hash house a go go. Regular food elevated. Nothing to fancy, but a slight variation on regular food. Siracchi honey wings, etc. a lot of house meats at carving station. And they were the first place I had siracchi lime watermelon. Yes, I love spicy foods. They always have a charcuterie area.

Hmm, kinda talked my way into it being worth the price for people not in vegas daily. I guess I went to the Wynn buffet years ago and it had very nice lamb chops and such. I haven't been to a high end buffet except Cosmo lately. I find it a better deal to go at lunch as dinner never has much more for the price difference.

I have had a few service issues. You have to go st opening because the hours are not good and they often just close the line for lunch. Their bussing is always an issue for me and I have spoken to the manager but nothing in procedures have changed. I find their choices very bad for business, yet they continue to bad habits.
Just curious, how much is the buffet for lunch and dinner?

Where do you get the bogo coupon?????

Diane

It comes with your MRB coupon book when you sign up for the LVA.
If you are looking for standard buffet items like prime rib, you won't find it here. All dishes are presented in portion sizes, not steam table spoonables.

I loved the salad area and desserts the best. None of their main entrees had much appeal for me as I am not a big fan of chicken.

With the BOGO coupon, I would give it another try. Without that coupon, I'd take a pass (just based on persona; taste, not food quality_.

The bogo coupon for me is with status. One a month.

On another note, just went to the bacchanal as they and wicked were top two on past few years. When I looked last week it was $33 for lunch, which was raised to $39 this week. Ridiculous, but we had a comp. we went at the crossover, just to see the difference as we will never be back for that price. While everything was good, I wasn't overly impressed for the price and comparison. They did have lamb chops at the dinner hour, however they grilled and cooked medium well. No! Please stop killing lamb chops...my favorite food. Rare is the only proper temperature. The sushi was warm as in Luke warm. I think someone left it sit beside a heat lamp. The truffle mushroom soup was my best item and could have eaten all night long. Love a good mushroom soup. But that should not be the star of my $40 lunch. Desserts were very good, but no better than Cosmo. They did have a crepe station. My fave as well. Crepe was beautiful, but banana foster should never be served cold, nor the creme Brûlée. Again, these dishes were excellent, but if supposedly the "best" follow the rules of proper. Again, the meal was delish. Had a larger selection, but you can only try so many dishes. The mashed potatoes were also a miss. Cosmo's are the bomb. Both are very good. Just in comparison And for price point, Cosmo for me. I don't eat crab legs, so I never see much need to go for dinner. So much to taste the extras aren't worth it.

I've actually always like planet hollywoods buffet. No clue why. It can at times be on groupon.

Have not tried Bachannal as of yet and not sure I will. Have eaten Wicked Spoon many times typically 2/1 cause I am sterling. Food is typically pretty tasty, it is some what different dishes than typical buffet. I would grade it a B.
Comparing prices it is kind of hard to spend $40 for a buffet but then as you look at the strip burger joints charging $18 bucks for a burger seems much more out of line than the buffet prices.
