Wild Wild West, would you stay there?

I've visited the casino at Wild Wild West and never stayed there but the casino has the same feel of the shuttered Gold Spike (not Gold Strike). For those unfamiliar with either place just think of a skanky, sleezy place. Anyway I'm planning my June trip (Sun - Tues) and I'm intending to use one free night at South Point (my last night) and possibly stay at Wild Wild West on Sunday night for $24 plus $7.99 resort fee. My strategy is to endure the 1st night in the dumps to save some money and then be wowed by the South Point for my last night. Has anyone stayed at Wild Wild West? Would you advise me to just pay a little more and stay else where?
I stayed there once for four nights. I would have left after the first night but I was broke and the rooms were prepaid on priceline. The drain in the sink didn't work right. Although reported the first nite, it was fixed the fourth day after about six calls. About midnite on the first night, I got a knock on the door. Not thinking, I opened it. There was a tweaked out streetwalker looking for her friend. When I told her she had the wrong room, she showed me a crack pipe and asked if she could come in and party.
On the other hand, the pool was somewhat nice. Not Vegas nice, but typical Days Inn nice. Foods good and cheap.
I'd stay at SP both nights. What could it cost, another $25?

LOL. Sorry, I just find it funny a sleazy dump would charge a "resort fee". For what it's worth, there is a Motel 6 just east of the Tropicana that may be a little nicer since it's closer to the strip.
It notoriously has a reputation for being a hotel where truck drivers hook up with street walkers. There's usually a bunch of working girls hanging around - and not the pretty ones either.. You can imagine what kind of stains are on your bedspread.

I wouldn't stay there. You can probably score Golden Gate or a Cabana Suite for that same price on a Sunday.

Priceline usually has a "3 star mystery hotel" on Fremont St area which is tha Downtown Grand. It comes up for $19 a night quite often. The resort fee is another $20 but it is worth it.
Wild Wild West.
I agree that for $35 a night I think you would be able to find something better or comparable. Agree with Fremont options. Just keep checking. But depends on your budget and needs. Up to you.

However one of my favorite tourist interactions ever involves www. Playing at a $5 bj table somewhere, a barely 30 suited graduate college yuppie wannabe is talking to my friend trying to impress her. He goes on and on that his company sent him here on a "business trip"and is footing the bill. He had been drinking "$60" shots of something or other. Blah blah blah. So we ask him where he is staying making small talk and he says www and I nearly die.

As for me, I have never stepped into www, not for any particular reason, I like dives, but just haven't had a reason. So that may say something.

The Orleans is just up the road and if you have a bconnected card you can get decent rates on weekdays with nice and secure rooms.
there are many better choices in the $30 range
downtown would be so much better you have Four Queens Main Street Station California Fremont all with no resort fee and the convenience of Casino hopping
