Growing up in NY the drinking age was 18. Then I got stationed in San Francisco where the drinking age was 21. It really changed my point of view.
When my sister turned 18 she could drink.....for several months until the age was raised to 19. Then when she turned 19 she could drink for a couple of months until they changed the age to 21. It really ticked her off both times.
When I was bouncing in a bar in Daytona Beach, the drinking age was 21. However, if you were active duty military with a green ID card, you could drink at 18. I thought that was pretty cool since I was in the Reserves at that time.
I believe if a state lowers the drinking age, they will loose Federal funding for something, road improvements perhaps.
