I'm in an online contest at Caribsports.com. I haven't been doing too well in the yearly contest, but they pay $7500 for a last place prize. They also have weekly prizes that range from $5000 down to about $1000. So since I wasn't doing too well in the yearly contest, I decided to shoot for going for last place and it's $7500 prize.
This week I decided to pick the teams that I thought would LOSE. So what happens? Each team in the morning game that I picked to LOSE....WON. You pick 10 teams each week or the total for the game. After almost all the morning games are over, I decided to take a peek at how I was doing. The Saints/Falcons game was the only one left to be completed in the morning. So here is how I stood after the Saints won the game in OT:

Now there were two more remaining game that I had on my card. The Giants +3.5, and the Seahawks +6.5. If you win all your games...you get two points for every win...you automatically win $5000 no matter how many other entries are 10-0. But if you have a loss, then the person with the best record wins the 5 grand, but you have to split any prize money should someone have the same record as you.
If the Giants won, or lost by 3 points or less, and the Seahawks won or lost by 6 points or less, I would have a perfect card and won the $5000 automatically. So guess who screwed me in the afternoon? MY GIANTS of course!

But I was still in first place with 18 points all by myself. But there were still 2 players that had the Jets on the SNF game. I thought that if the Pats won, I would win the first place prize. I fell asleep before the game was over, but when I woke up at 1 am, I found out the Pats had won the game, and I should be the winner of the contest.
BUT, when I logged in this morning waiting to see my $5000 posted to my account, I still hadn't won! Turns out there were other entries that had 16 points and 14 points that still had a chance to tie me...no one could beat me....because they had picks on the MNF game. So it breaks down to this for me to win all the money.
1 player took the Pack -13.5
3 players took the Over 50.5
1 player took the Vikes and Over. He has 14 points and would have to win both to tie me.
So, basically, I need the Vikings +13.5 and Under 50.5 to win everything. If the Packers win by 14 or more, and the game goes Under, I split the $5000 with that player. $2500 each.
If the Vikings cover, and the game goes Over, I split with 3 other players. $1250 each.
And the WORST case scenario is if the Pack and Over comes in, and it will be a 5 way tie for $1000 each. That's the absolute worst that I can win.....$1000.
Now you know I'm going to Vegas on Saturday, and that $5000 would help me not to have to take out any funds from the bank account...or from under the mattress....so you know what sides I need tonight...
