Bags, that’s a toughie. I’m pretty sure Bob Seger has worked with many pianists/keyboardists over the years, including various members of The Silver Bullet Band and The Muscle Shoals Rhythm Section, as well as numerous studio musicians.
Several members of the Eagles have contributed, including backing vocals by Glenn Frey, Don Henley, and Timothy B. Schmidt, and guitar work by Joe Walsh and Don Felder. However, I’m not aware of any of them being credited with piano/keyboard work for Seger.
Paul Harris did the piano solo that I like so much on Against The Wind. He’s an accomplished session musician who’s worked with many “name” artists, although he is not well known himself. I think there are scores of other talented but generally unknown piano/keyboard artists like him who have contributed on individual songs for Seger.
Dr. John and Bruce Hornsby are two “name” pianists that I know have worked with Seger. Are either of those the name you’re looking for, or do you know of another?
