Lines of workers chanted, carried signs and yelled at people trying to walk into the Cosmopolitan on Friday, protesting the property’s lack of a contract with the Las Vegas Culinary Union.
Deutsche Bank owns the Cosmopolitan, and their execs must be laughing hysterically at the anti-union rubes.
First the bank helps burn down the world economy with their collateralized debt obligations (while our president fiddled), but now the whole thing is the fault of...the UNIONS! Poor Deutsche Bank, they are such a victim.
1) The union and the Cosmopolitan Hotel will reach a contract deal by the end of March
2) Deutsche Bank will maintain or increase its dividend to its shareholders over the next year.
3) Our resident union haters will cry bloody murder about people making $12/hour from now until forever..and say its unfair to demand their employers pay for their health insurance
4) Our resident union haters will cry bloody murder about non-unionized workers getting their health insurance from the government because they're too lazy to get a good job where the employer pays for it.
Deutsche Bank has lost over $1 billion on this venture & would love to get out of the casino business.
Since Vegas has one of the highest unemployment rates in the country along with their desire to sell the property there is no reason for them to negotiate
