One of my 3 brothers lives and works in Rochester, NY. He and his wife plan to retire in about 5 years, and move to Tennessee. I asked my brother why he wanted to move and he said, in order, taxes and weather.
And some folks why manufacturing is moving offshore. Companies (and people) migrate to low cost environments, and America is no longer "in the game".

Credit unions, etc) and dividend income at a realatively low rate. Even that tax is probably on its way out (or being reduced). It doesn't amount to alot and our republican legislature and Gov are against it.
