Never let "terrorists" take away your liberty. You have the right to travel anywhere you want, and primarily the world is a safe place. I lived in London UK for a while during the height of war activity, and alerts like "Don't go into Knightsbridge, there are bomb scares etc". I went anyway, and I'm still alive. Even if the world proves to be full of nutters and bombers, they can't kill all of us at once... or so I believe. So I go where I want to go, when I want to go there - alert or no alert. Always be on guard when travelling in any case - but you're on holiday to enjoy yourself and there's no reason we should change that!
